[APP][Pro] SolarEdge + Growatt TCP modbus

ack, that is easy

can you try growatt tl battery SolarEdge + Growatt TCP modbus | Homey

It is working, thank you!

is it possible to control the amount of backup battery reserveration on solaredge through the app? i cant find it, if it doesn’t exist then this doubles is a feature request

i see this in the documentation but no flow card

E008 (F708) 2 R/W Storage Backup Reserved Setting Float32 0-100 %

i have the new homehub recently installed

I’m not that handy at coding unfortunately
I might give it a shot with help from Gemini with an A-Z tutorial :folded_hands:

Hi,

can’t seem to get it working and it i am getting slightly insane!

i have a growatt MOD 4KTL3-XH + battery

i use a waveshare RS485-TO-ETH converter and connected pin 3 and 4 from connector to A and B (and switched them several times during faultfinding). set the waveshare to required settings

When adding the inverter in the app (tried all 3 since not entirely clear) i see RX data on my waveshare, (assuming homey is polling) but no TX (assuming no data from inverter)

can it be “polling freq”? but where do i set this?

Growatt Tech Helpdesk has activated VPP upon my request. (ticket still open btw, since no luck, maybe there’s more?)

removed USB (LAN) dongle when trying and -obviously- restarted inverter several times during the above excercise

what am i missing here?? any help greatly appreciated

kind regards

Hi Edwin, thnx for the great work.

I seem to have a similar problem, to solaredge converter, one a master one a slave, connected by rs485. I activated modbus tcp on both machines. I can read the data from the master without any problem. The data from the slave were ok, till it froze. Any suggestions.

Thnx again

Rob

@sandirt,

Hi Sander, what I checked with my settings, Waveshare IP = same IP to use in the Homey APP.

Serial port parameters are equal to mine.

Your screenshots indicate IP x.253 whilst your waveshare is at IP x.99

This info any use to you?

Did that just now thanks.

did you try it with the modbus app? to see if it works

did it work else can add it, few min of work

have the same setup as you. read both out on own ip and its modbus port , master slave both have their own battery and master has the meter connected to it.

maybe you can ask solaredge support. for me after some firmware upgrades it was a lot of work to make it stable, in the end factory reset helped for me.

I didn’t get to it unfortunately but would love to have it

Hello Edwin,

I have a question with this app. I want to use the solar power value to switch other gear on and off but the value only seems to update occasionally. I can ping the inverter but the values in homey vary from 3 to 11 hrs ago. I already reserved the ip for my solaredge inverter in my router so that it will always be the same. Do you have any idea what i do wrong?

funny just updated again

is the inverter on lan or on wifi.? solaredge is mostly stable or homey is too busy etc.

ah , are you doing another app like home assistent or double on homey. so on modbus only 1 app can have the connection ( I release it when done , maybe others are not doing that ). others will get blocked. use a modbus proxy then.

done SolarEdge + Growatt TCP modbus | Homey

solaredge with battery has now pv only capability and growatt normal devices have a refresh param on the settings of the device

Works like a charm with the regular/normal Growatt Inverter.
Just asking here Edwin, but would it be possible to set refresh param on the Growatt + Battery device as well?

Currently I have 2 diifferent devices, normal Growatt Inverter with updates every 10 seconds and Growatt+Battery device with updates every 30 seconds

If it’s not possible then don’t worry about it

Thanks again for your dedication :heart_hands:

ack will also do the rest .
