[APP][Pro] Solar Forecasts (SolCast + Forecast.Solar)

That’s unfortunate to hear. I’m not a programmer, so I use Homey instead of Home Assistant. Perhaps there are other developers who can help you? Could you please post your question on the developers’ forum?

I am also not a programmer :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

But I checked with Chatgpt and there are some options, so I will quickly try something after the holidays

I would really appreciate it if the requested function comes into the app. I am now working with the expected clouds. But that’s not reliable enough.

Ask more experienced developers on this forum. No doubt someone can help you.

@Pieterv123 What’s easier for you? Adding the forecast for the next 4, 5, and 6 hours. Or the forecast for a specific time period? (I prefer that.)

We will see what I am able to make

There is a new test version with a Graph (Solcast only)
Still need to fix timezones, naming etc.

Where can I find the graph? I don’t see it anywhere. (Beta installed)

You have to make an update, click on the button or wait until it updates.

Next update will retrieve it on starting

Ah, there’s the camera. Still no image (black). I understand something will come up naturally.

*edit

There it is. Looks good. I still get the camera logo as the background. Is there anything you can do about that? The graph is only displayed on the dashboard. It remains black in the device window.

The graphics aren’t quite working properly yet. But that’s the time zone you mentioned earlier.

I added a background colour, maybe I could add colour options in the settings, but that is prone to errors.

Also the optimistic and pessimistic scenario’s are added.

Maybe in a few weeks I will make further updates

That looks damn good. I see the graph is from the previous hour?

It uses the data from the last update from Solcast,
So it depends on your interval.

I could change it to current hour, but I think this option gives you a better view on quality of the data.

I have another fun challenge for you. Can you make the graph visible via a dashboard app widget? That will look even better. :innocent:

out of my league, that would take me too much time

Latest test version:

New:

  • Graphs for both Solcast and Forecast.Solar
  • Condition cards for threshold between start- and endtime

Thanks, that saves me some calculations in my flow. And increases accuracy. I’ll test it.

I think there’s a bug. I set the time to 12:00 - 18:00. Threshold 9.004 (calculated). Remaining energy at 9:41 is 8.03 kWh. So the condition can’t be true. Yet, the value true is returned. Only when I set the threshold to 13 or higher does it return false.

Can you try again and then send me a diagnostics report

You can try the latest test version, I think it is ok now
