[APP][Pro] Rain Bird

[APP][Pro] Rain Bird - #29 by gautel

@sorted.bits any news? :slightly_smiling_face:

No big updates, this is quite hard to debug, as this is without issues at my Rainbird.

What I did do in the last test update is:

  • Updated the Rainbird dependency, this might fix issues
  • Catch the Set Point event separately to be EXTRA sure we get it. So, this might be more reliable.

The test version can be installed from here: Rain Bird | Homey

Can you please post an image of an advanced flow you use? I can then copy it and see if it works here too.

I am sorry.

I am no longer using my Homey for this and switched to Home Assistant. If this feature is currently not working for you, I am sorry about that, but there will be no new updates to this app.

Ohhh “come on” :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Hi Wim I’m realy sorry to hear!
I realy like to thank you for the work done!
Rudi

Hey Wim, can you please post your app on Github? Maybe someone else can continue your fabulous work. Thx and have some fun with Home Assistant.

Take a look at post 1 of this thread

Sad to hear. Is it possible for you to adjust the topic title by adding [Transferrable] or if you don’t want to transfer ownership, [Abandoned] ?
Thanks in advance.

Guess it doesn’t make sense untill someone takes over the app development…but anyway.
If I turn the rain bird off via the rainbird app, homey keeps thinking it’s on.

Hello, I need a advice on how to make my flow work.
I don’t know what is everyone flow look like but this is the easiest that I can think of.

I have 2 zone ( Front yard and Back yard )
I do not have any PGM set on Rainbird app just pure Homey pro.
every time the flow start it alway skip Front yard zone and go stright to Back yard zone.
and the timeline doesn’t say anything.
both of table and test version does the same thing.
I guess I could add a delay?
please help
Thank you

Offtopic:
You can replace this

With: Today is not a Sunday.
Achievable with

  • Invert the ‘Today it is a Sunday’ card
    Or
  • Use the yellow output of ‘Today it is a Sunday’ card

What does ‘for 20 minutes’ mean here? Should it stop after 20 minutes?

What happens if you remove it?
You’d should add
When…
-sprinkler front yard started
Then…
-delay of 20 minutes
Then…
-stop sprinkler front yard

Same for back yard

You should also test if the front yard part works at all?
When…
Flow is started
Then…
-start sprinkler front yard

Thank you so much for your respond .
where I live it’s ilegal to water on Sunday. and ilegal certain time and day of a month.
I tested notthing worng with the month and day start part.

------I found the problem. it’s the flow card.----- ( Queue )
( Start zone Front yard for 20 minutes )
it should run Front yard first for 20minutes before trigger
( Start zone Back yard for 20 minutes )

right now it just trigger Front yard then stop right away then start Back yard.
it shoud put Zone 1,2,3 in the queue.
meaning run zone 1 till done for set time, then zone 2 till done for set time, then zone 3 till done for set time,
right now it just jump to zone 3 without wait for zone 1,2 to run for set time.

this is just a quick fix that work for now. just add a delay card.
but I think it should work without that delay card.
idk I could be wrong. the flow card said ( Start zone for minutes )

YW!

There isn’t. I tried to explain you can achieve exactly the same, by using a “it is not a Sunday” card instead of the 6 “it is a … day” cards.
Just to save you work.

Ah, now I see. You assume the card to ‘activate’ it’s output after 20 minutes.
It doesn’t. It ‘activates’ it’s output right after the command (start sprinkler) has completed.

Note:
A big downside of the onboard delays:
they don’t survive a Homey restart, and a power outage.
I use only use them for short delays (couple of minutrs max.); for longer delays I use Chronograph timers, they continue after a restart / power outage.

ohh got you. I see, yes. Thank you.

I use Orbit for 10+ years (2 model)
the app is very fast, wifi is very fast, no loading time like Rain bird app.
you can have as many PGM as you like Rain bird only 3 max
only down side of Orbit is once a year I have to change my PGM year from 2024 to 2025
meaning if I set on November water only friday for 20mn, in order to save this PGM
(it will pop up the year ) it won’t save if not pick the year.
let’s say if I pick November of 2024. next Nov 2025 it will be no PGM.

I just bought Rain bird 2 days ago just because it’s the only things is work with homey pro
I was hoping set up once and never have to touch it again.

Hello

Do the app run from the cloud account or in local (LAN) mode with just the Rainbow IP?

The app store says local:

THANKs
Do you know how many Rain Bird supports?

At least two ?

I need 10 Rain bird.
