I use the official app for plugwise now, it has the same functionality ![]()
Thanks man, highly appreciated!
So the f*ckers copied my code …
Wow, That was quite the birth… ![]()
The new version 4.0.0 is ready for testing. It turned out to be a huge app rewrite and a lot of testing. I have especially tested the automatic migration of version 3.6.0 to this 4.0.0 version. I hope I managed to tackle all user scenario’s that are out there.
The most important change is that the app now also supports Power meters (Watt) that have no Energy meter (kWh). PBTH is even capable of converting the Watts to a kWh meter. Downside of using Watt as source is that it is not as accurate as using kWh as source. Every time Homey reboots, or when there is a network issue, the kWh meter will not be able to update. But on a stable network and a stable Homey PBTH will be pretty good I think ![]()
Secondly, the app now also supports Energy meters that use an (to me) unknown capability and not the standard meter_power. You can easily send any kWh value in real-time to PBTH via a flow.
- Added Power meter (Watt) as source device.
- Added Virtual Energy meter.
- Added more source apps.
- Added Cumulative Energy (kWh) and Power (Watt) as capability.
- Added flow to update power(kWh) gas(m3) water(m3).
- Added daily reset setting for Gas.
- Added poll and day_start settings for gas and water devices.
- Fixed water min/max reset via flow.
- Added a readme setup manual.
- Many other fixes and improvements.
Since this is a huge upgrade it is likely there are small bugs. But I think I managed to iron out all critical issues with all the testing I have performed. Let me know what you think after testing it: Power by the Hour App for Homey | Homey
A new test update v4.0.1 is available in the app store: Power by the Hour App for Homey | Homey
On top of everything mentioned for v4.0.0, the following changes are included:
- Fix changing start date from settings.
- Fix weird values after settings change.
- Fix initial Money value after pairing.
- Automatically set Watt_as_Source during pair.
- Fixed gas flow units.
I’m using this flow but the tariff doesn’t seem to change. When I hit test and look up the tariff it still is the original 0,25 cents. Could this be an . , issue?
I think the issue is in the youless app. Im investigating it myself also. If you change the AND card to a logic card ‘tariff is equal to yes’ it works.
Couldn’t find the tag at first but it’s yes/no, tnx! This works
Problems with device, no data showing.

Hi Peter. Nothing weird I can see in the log. So you need to provide much more details what is wrong otherwise I have no clue…
Thanks for all the people giving good reviews and nice feedback on the new version. I really appreciate that!
The nordics are ahead concerning energy market (dynamic pricing etc). Since I live in the Netherlands I am not experiencing myself what would be usefull in the PBTH app.
So if there is any functionality that you see as usefull let me know. Im thinking for instance about energy usage predictions. I saw that in some other energy apps created in the Nordics, but I am not sure what the use case would be to have a prediction availale.
Thanks for answering. A whole lot more devices can now be added, it finds my qubino smart meter, but when adding no data is coming in from device, all blank.
Ah. I suspect the qubino app is using non standard meter capabilities. Do you know if/where they published the source code so I can have a look?
In the mean time, try manually setting ‘use Watt as source’ to Yes. That might already provide a solution.
Using kWh as source is however always more accurate. So you could also select the Virtual Meter when pairing, and use a flow to update the PBTH virtual device everytime the Qubino kWh is updated.
I have the firmware if u have an emailadr? Cant send files here…
Watt works…
Cannot use firmware. I need to know what capabilities the qubino Homey app is using.

Testing V4.0.1: When creating the flow to update the virtual device, I am unable to select the virtual device… No matter what I do
Am I doing it wrong?
Mmh. Need to check if I broke this in the last update…
Edit: everything is working fine for me. Are you using the correct procedure? @Joenoo
-
Add the virtual meter
-
Create a flow with this action card 'send reading to virtual meter"
-
Select the virtual device you created
Well I guess I must be doing something wrong. Here is what I do:
- Create the virtual device:
-
Create the flow to update the virtual device:
-
Unfortunately on both the mobile app and the web app I cannot select the virtual device.
You are not creating the virtual device that can be updated with a flow. The bottom one ‘VIRTUAL_METER_POWER’ is the virtual device.
You are adding Greenwave Powernode that will be automatically updated from the Watts value. (At least that is what the settings are saying). No need to update anything via a flow.
Ah right, it is indeed updating without a flow.
Thanks! Awesome app ![]()
