There have been several Firmware updates, i’ve got mine running on v1.0 now quite stable…
Version 2.1.0 is ready for tesing:
- Improved MQTT stability
- Fixed pairing of multiple gateways and custom topics
- Fixed reconnect after changing settings
- Port follows TLS setting during pairing
- Default device class set to Other
- Translation fixes
Enjoy!
Next up: I ordered a new LOLIN S3 Mini (ESP32-S3) to replace the Wemos D1 mini ESP8266 on my OTGW harware board. Reason for this is that I want to try the SAT functionality of the V2 firmware: GitHub - rvdbreemen/OTGW-firmware: A ESP8266 devkit firmware for the Nodoshop version of the Opentherm Gateway (OTGW) · GitHub
SAT: Smart Autotune Thermostat
This basically will make the OTGW board a very advanced thermostat. You keep your existing thermostat, but the boiler control will be done by the OTGW firmware. I hope this will further reduce my gas usage without losing comfort ![]()
I yesterday installed opentherm gateway. Everything works data is arriving in the MQTT broker. But I’m not able to add an OTGW device in homey. When adding the device the screen in homey app stays blank and no device gets added. Before 9 october I had already set up all the applications to just dry test the software. I think that was with the old software version. In that version the OTGW app was reporting back like, no broker found when using wrong IP or no active OTGW device found. But in the current software version also those messages don’t show up, it just appears to don’t do anything when trying to add a OTGW device. Could that be an issue with version 2.1.0?
can you send an app diagnostics report?
See f72279d1-ea93-47cf-a82c-7f9e626574f1 . At around 10:10 I repeated trying to add a OTGW.
The report doesnt show any issues. And I cannot reproduce the issue. On my phone (android) the pairing screen shows correctly. Do you have a screenshot?
And did you try fully closing the Homey app (or even fully rebooting your phone)?
Edit: Ah, I now see. It is the screen AFTER you type in the IP. I can reproduce and will come up with a fix.
Yes exactly, when selecting add device. I see the screen OTGW with the install button, then I see the screen where you can fill in IP and credentials and then when you press save there a blank screen comes up that does not progress.
New version 2.1.1 is published as stable:
- Fixed blank screen during pairing
- MQTT broker IP auto-discovery
- Offline gateways marked during pairing
- Faster gateway discovery
- Error when sending commands to an offline gateway
- MQTT library updated
Confirmed this fixes the blank screen during pairing issue for me.
Hi Robin,
Eric
Please use English in this thread.
The Homey app supports hot water being switched on/off. But not all boilers accept the command. I have a Intergas, and that doesnt support the control from external for hot water on/off.
It does support setting the temperature lower/higher. I use that for my ‘shower timer’. That will lower the hot water temperature from 60 degrees down to 40 after 6 minutes showering. Not really cold, but uncomfortable enough to make teenagers leave the shower ![]()
When the shower is turned off, the hot water is set back at 60 degrees again.
Hi Robin,
Thanks for your answer, but I think this is about switching your central heating between central heating with tap water and only central heating and another option (don’t know it off the top of my head) via the factory menu.
For me, it’s actually about the function of switching on and off tap comfort function. See attached figure H7.3 Which one do you mean exactly?
Regards Eric
Yes, that’s possible with the OTGW. Your boiler supports switching tap comfort on/off via OpenTherm (§7.3), and the OTGW can do that for you, even if your thermostat can’t. You only need to set tap comfort to Eco and parameter o. to 0 on the boiler once. After that you can switch it from Homey.
Super i go download your app and visit the nodo-shop for parts ![]()

Nope. You need to go to Discord for that kind of support.
