[APP][Pro] Loops

With some experimentation, I figured out it was the “Loops” app that was throwing this error on my HomeyPro(early 2023).

My method to find which app was generating the message:

  1. Clear out existing notifications
  2. Open the Settings panel
  3. Go to the Apps list
    4) Click on the first app then click its Restart button
    5) Once Restart has finished, check for new a notification
  4. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you’ve found the app that generated the message

It would be nice if the notifications window included the name of the app that generated a message.

Loops was recently updated to 2.31 while the version on the Homey Appstore is still 2.2.0

I reinstalled the 2.2 version from the appstore and disabled auto-updates for this app…
Lets see if the annoying info message is gone…

The icon right in front of it might reveal some info :man_shrugging:

I used this script to see what app it was

You don’t really need an app or variables to create loops

Thanks!!! This worked.

Dear Menno, I appreciate your effort in developing an app. It’s unfortunate that you’ve had a bad experience with Homey. However, it’s a shame that everyone has to suffer because of it. It would have been nice to keep the old version online or to give a heads-up.

Thank you very much for this link now all my flows are up and runing again

Thanks this also worked for me!! Very happy to have my flows working properly again

I’m a bit late to this party, have been trying to figure out why I was having the same issue for about 2 weeks. I did not have Loops installed. My issue was “Insights Graphs”. Followed the routine mentioned earlier in the thread about restarting each app and then checking the notifications. I was using a more recent version. The app had been depreciated to ver v2.0.5, which once loaded, solved my errant notifications.

wouw… what a way to find out…

@athom: can you create a setting that will list where such a messages are coming from? took me a while to figure this one out and to end-up here…

@Menno_van_Hout this is not the way man…

As a result i am re-evaluating the necessity of all the apps i use, i am not running this as a development environment… this is plain production for me!

All apps have been restored.

Sorry for the inconveniences.

I guess you mean Athom restored the last working version.

Maybe you should publish a newer version number that fixes it so where the affected build was installed automatically it would update automatically again to the fixed old version with a higher version.

Yeah I’m planning on doing that. Currently I’m on holidays so I’m unable to work on the homey apps as I can not test them locally without a Homey pro presence in the same wifi network.

The irony here, after discovering Loops was the problematic app, was that I was not even using it in any flow.

Thank you

Enjoy the Holidays!

Good morning! My Loops haven’t been working for a while now, so I finally took some time to look into what’s going on. They’ve been working for years without issues. Now I keep getting the following message:

Flow Card not registered (type: action, id: then-start-loop-with-name)

How can I fix this?

Please reinstall it form the homey app store

Nice app - I’ve set up my first flow using it and it seems to be working.
One thing I noticed was that when I did a reboot last night the flow seemed to stop (it writes to the timeline every iteration so I can test if it is working before I use it on my hot water heater - this is why there are two “on” and no “off” as well).

Does a reboot reset the loop counter to 0?

Any suggestions are appreciated!

A reboot kills all loops, as Homey will kill the running scripts indeed.
