Hi all,
After Energy Dashboard I made a second dashboard: Floor Plan Dashboard. Your home as a live floor plan, with the devices where they really are. Lamps glow where they hang, rooms show their temperature, and next to each device is the value that matters. I am looking for people who would like to try the first test version; you can install it from Floor Plan Dashboard | Homey
You can have a look first without installing anything, in the demo with a sample home: Huis (the editor is under the pencil).
What it does
- A dashboard in 2D and 3D, as a web page in your own home network. A wall tablet, laptop or phone only needs a browser.
- Tap a lamp for on/off and a dim slider, right next to the lamp.
- Rooms show their temperature and the thermostat’s set temperature; sensors show their value beside them.
- Clock, weather and calendar (iCal) next to the floor plan.
- Several levels.
- A Floor plan widget for Homey dashboards.
- A switch to Energy Dashboard if you have that too.
The editor
You set it up on a computer or tablet, in the browser: http://<your-homey>:8687/editor
- Draw rooms and walls, put doors and windows on the walls
- Furniture from a catalogue of over 150 models, in your own sizes and colours
- Lamps as the kind they are: ceiling, pendant, wall, floor and table lamps
- A thermostat on the wall, stairs, copy and paste, 90 degree turns, fix rooms and walls in place
- You can also make changes in 3D
Start from a picture
Have a floor plan from the estate agent (image or PDF)? Add it, measure one known length, and the editor recognises walls, rooms, doors and windows. Then you choose the Homey zone for each room. This all happens in your browser, without an AI service; the picture goes nowhere.
Installing
Test version: Floor Plan Dashboard | Homey
- Install the app and open its settings.
- Choose “Open the editor” and draw your home (or start from a picture).
- Open the dashboard on your tablet, or put the widget on a Homey dashboard.
An access code and an edit PIN are optional in the settings.
Feedback
This is a first test version, so everything is welcome: what works, what looks odd, what you miss. If something is wrong with a device, use “Report a problem” (the ! at the top right of the dashboard, or in the app settings). It makes an anonymous report without names or address. Please send that report to me directly, by mail or in a private message here on the forum, not in this topic.
