envisalink for vista is now available in homey test for honeywell, ademco, and resideo vista alarm panels connected through an eyezon envisalink.

the app connects homey pro directly to envisalink over the local network. home assistant, mqtt, and a separate bridge are not required.

current beta features;

  • vista partition status; ready/not ready, exit delay, armed modes, alarm, fire, trouble, battery, tamper, and ac state
    • individual door/window, motion, and generic zone devices
    • flow support
    • local reconnection and status refresh
    • optional arm away, arm stay, and disarm controls
      important testing notes;
  • this is a monitoring-first beta. we do not have physical vista hardware locally, so we need real vista/envisalink testers.
    • leave alarm control disabled at first. verify partition and zone monitoring before entering a vista user code or enabling arm/disarm.
    • vista tpi does not report an explicit entry delay state, so the app does not guess one from keypad beeps.
    • vista can omit some zone-closure messages; the app handles uncertain state conservatively rather than falsely reporting a zone safe.

Installed for a couple of weeks now, Although I havent tried any flows, I can only report that all zones of my vista panel and envisalink 4 showed up and respond accordingly. In fact I would say the response from door/window sensors as well as the motions respond super quick.

thanks for the feedback!! We are really happy to hear that all of your vista zones appeared correctly and that the door, window, and motion updates are responding so quickly. Reports like yours are exactly what we need as we prepare to move the vista app out of testing and toward publication. Please keep using it, and when you get a chance to try some flows, let us know how they work or if you notice anything we should improve.

thanks again for testing. great to hear the evl4 zones are responding quickly. if you are still using the app, could you share your vista model, evl4 firmware, homey model/software version, app version, and how many partitions and zones you have.

a few monitoring-only checks would really help. please let us know whether contacts and motion zones reliably return to normal after activity, including when two contacts are open and only one closes. if you get a chance, try a simple zone-triggered flow for a light or notification. have you seen missed updates or problems after an ordinary homey restart or network interruption.

please leave homey arm/disarm control disabled. there is no need to deliberately trigger an alarm, fire, tamper or monitoring-station response. we still do not have vista hardware locally, so your feedback helps us validate the beta. if anything misbehaves, please send an app diagnostic report id privately, not passwords, alarm codes or raw logs.

Hi everyone, a quick update for our Vista testers, and thanks again for the feedback so far.

Envisalink 1.4.1 is now available in Test, with DSC and Honeywell/Ademco Vista support together in one app. This uses the existing DSC app identity, with separate, clearly labelled Vista devices. It is still a test build, not a certified public release.

Moving from the separate Vista app

There is no automatic migration between the two apps. Please move over when you have time to check the new setup:

  1. Privately record your old device names, zone and partition numbers, settings, and affected Flows. Disable the old Vista Flows before starting. Keep the old installation and your setup notes for recovery; do not delete everything first.
  2. Stop/disable the standalone Vista app so its local Envisalink connection is closed. Stop any other local TPI client using that module too. Do not run both apps against the same Envisalink at the same time: the module accepts one local TPI connection. The EyezOn cloud app is separate.
  3. Install the combined app using the Test link above. Add Vista Alarm Partition, using the module’s local IP address and local password, not your EyezOn cloud login. Add only partitions actually configured on your panel.
  4. Add Vista Alarm Zone devices. Check each zone’s partition assignment and the partition’s Vista zone capacity (EVL3: 64; EVL4: 128). Leave alarm controls disabled while checking monitoring.
  5. Recreate/update the affected Flows using the new Vista devices and cards. The old app’s device and Flow references do not transfer automatically. Start with a harmless light or notification Flow, then check zone opening/restoration and reconnection before relying on the setup.
  6. Keep the old setup stopped until you are satisfied with the new one. Only retire it after checking your replacement Flows. If returning to it, stop the combined app’s connection first.

Existing DSC users should not remove or re-pair their devices; their existing devices and Flow identities are preserved.

Vista now includes Away, Stay, Instant, Maximum and Disarm controls and status Flows. Instant = Stay without entry delay; Maximum = Away without entry delay. Instant is not Night-Stay. Controls are off by default and require a valid user code when enabled. For now, please focus on monitoring; any later control tests need an agreed safe procedure with someone at the keypad.

Vista TPI still does not explicitly report Entry Delay, so there is no guessed Entry Delay status. Zone restoration can also be delayed or uncertain. Homey is not a replacement for your alarm panel or professional monitoring.

We still need real Vista hardware feedback before public release. Please share your panel model, Envisalink model/firmware, Homey model/software, app version, and monitoring/Flow/reconnection results. Please do not post passwords, alarm codes or raw login/keypad data.

When initially connecting a Partition for vista, I got an error “Waiting for a fresh Vista partition report”. I needed to manually arm and disarm my system for that error to go away and for everything to start working. Not sure if that is expected behavior and a bug.
