Hi, and thank you for this app. Its the best thing since sliced bread!
I’m using the latest test version, v2.0.5.
Is there a limit to how many, or which type of fields you can set as status indicator?
I have one device with a mix of text, numeric and yes/no fields, but only the numeric ones can be selected as status indicator.
Thats Homey default.
Status indicators show a value, and the capability for it, say, kWh.
So a plain textfield can’t be selected as Status indicator. However, it is shown on the web app device tiles though, while they are able to show all fields.
So, the magic Arie did here, is: Make the status indicator’s capability part editable!
So, at ‘Number’ you enter a fake value, like 0. At ‘Text’ you can enter your text you want to be shown.
What you really do “under water”, is entering a custom capability name
Actually, it’s not it’s name (see the Sensor tab and the name is shown there, the same as in the Settings).
It sets the Units-label for the selected number
Yes, I’m using this way now. It just doesn’t look so clean with that random number in front.
And it made me wonder since, i.e. the Kodi app can have play and pause symbol when you play something. Lamps can have a ball off different colors. My door have a lock symbol, and then there are the battery symbols. So somehow it is possible to not only have numbers as status indicator. I haven’t seen any with only text though.
