Deco & Internet Monitor
Monitor your home network locally, without any cloud service: Internet quality, your ISP box and your TP-Link Deco mesh Wi-Fi become Homey devices, with Insights charts and Flow cards. Read-only: the app never changes any setting on the box or the Deco.
Test version: Deco & Internet Monitor | Homey

Internet quality
- Connectivity probes every 30 s to several targets (Cloudflare, Google, Quad9): latency, jitter, packet loss
- LAN latency to the box (tells a local problem from an Internet outage) and DNS resolution time
- Periodic speed test: run by the Livebox itself (full line speed, not capped by Homey’s Ethernet port) or from Homey (Cloudflare), with automatic fallback
- Confirmed outages counted with their duration (no false alarm on a single failed probe)
- Threshold alerts (download, upload, latency, jitter, loss) raised and cleared only after several consecutive measurements
Internet box
Choose your provider before pairing:
- Orange / Sosh: Livebox 4, 5, 6, 7
- Bouygues Telecom: Bbox
- SFR: SFR Box
Internet link state, public IP, connection and box uptime; real-time traffic (Livebox, Bbox); fibre optical power and native speed test (Livebox).
TP-Link Deco
- One device per node, with its IP, role, model and firmware in the settings
- Online state and connected clients per node; on the main Deco, clients per band (2.4 / 5 GHz / wired), CPU and memory
- Client traffic per node, plus an “Average traffic” ↓/↑ indicator you can show on the tile
- Wireless backhaul signal and speed for satellites
Flow cards
Triggers: Internet went down / is back (with outage duration), speed test finished / failed, quality degraded / back to normal, box link down / back, connection renewed, box rebooted, public IP changed, fibre signal low / back to normal, Deco offline / online, mesh backhaul weak / back to normal, a device connected / disconnected.
Conditions: Internet available, connection quality good, box link up, Deco online, a device (name, IP or MAC) connected anywhere on the mesh.
Actions: run a speed test (also as an advanced card returning the results as tokens).
Good to know
- Deco: the owner account is required. The Deco refuses manager accounts for local access, and each login closes the owner session in the Deco mobile app. Create a manager account for the mobile app and keep the owner account for Homey.
- Homey Pro (Early 2023) has a 100 Mbit/s Ethernet adapter: speed tests run from Homey cannot exceed ~94 Mbit/s. The Livebox speed test has no such limit.
- Latency is measured as the TCP handshake time (Homey apps cannot send ICMP pings), which closely follows a classic ping.
- Some Deco firmwares (e.g. some Deco S7) use an older login protocol that is not supported yet.
Testers wanted
Developed and tested on an Orange Livebox 5 + TP-Link Deco mesh. Bbox and SFR Box support is implemented from their local APIs but has not been tested on real hardware yet: if you own one, your feedback is very welcome.
