I notice all non Athom widgets are slower and that something to do with how Athom has implemented this…
Anyways - love your apps which are really rethinking the interface and smooth looking (transparent background, your line chart etc)!
I see one thing that other widget has sorted (Spacey Plan) is that you seem to use the original icon and not the customized one under a unit. Would be a great update if you should find the time as the Matter icon is a bit boring…
Hi @Erikvl87 ,
I have had the “luck” to see more times the screen going black before the Android start screen appears again. I was watching the dashboard full with DataVista widgets.
Have you any luck in finding the root cause?
Hello
I created some line charts for my new Energy dashboard where I created new charts for my energy usage of electricity, gas and water. I created charts for daily, weekly and monthly but on iOS it only shows the charts, not the countdown on the legend.
On my Android tablet it’s working like I want it. Only started collecting the data yesterday so most charts aren’t displaying a lot for now.
Hi DataVista developer. Love your work. I have my dashboard running on multiple apple devices. I used to experience it locking up but I got onto Athom, who acknowledged an issue, and it has been sorted. I rarely get a crash or lockup these days.
A quick ask. Is it possible that this widget
could be reduced to take up the same screen real estate as this widget
Hi @Bernd_Gaykema, I’m also experiencing crashes, so it’s definitely my top priority. It’s been quiet from my side because I’m in the middle of two home renovations. This has meant I haven’t had the chance to work on DataVista yet.
The renovations will continue for at least two more weeks, but I hope to find some time for DataVista in between, or definitely after those two weeks. I have some ideas to try and resolve this, but some guidance from @gerard_athom would be very welcome. However, I’ve understood from the other topic (Homey dashboard crashes almost every day - #3 by gerard_athom) he’s currently also dealing with other priorities.

Thanks for reporting. You’re not the first that reported this behavior when using iOS. I’ll get myself an iOS device and make sure to fix this asap! Sorry for the inconvenience.
I’m glad to hear that most of your crashes have been resolved! Do you have any tips or tricks you could share about what was causing these crashes?
Thanks for reporting, Peter! What version of DataVista did you use?
I use 0.9.4
I wish I could say I did something magical but I’m afraid I don’t so I have no hints. You do have to watch out for upgrades of the App though. They will cause the dashboard to not repond. Also I am running the beta version of the App.
Current beta version of DataVista = 0.10.2
DataVista v0.10.3 is now available in the test channel!
This version includes a switch to SVG rendering for the gauge and line chart widgets, replacing the previous Canvas-based approach.
This change was made after @gerard_athom pointed out that heavy use of the Canvas API might cause crashes. I consider this change an experiment to see if this update resolves the dashboard crashes. Please let me know if you’re still experiencing crashes, or if the issue seems resolved.

Thanks for testing and providing feedback!

My Dashboard with most DataVista widgets is running now on test version 0.10.3
I’ll keep you informed.
Edit1: 20 hour, still live and kicking.
Edit2: 21:30 hour, still a working dashboard. Looks very promising !
Last edit: next morning, still working fine. SOLVED !!!

Hi @Erikvl87, after the v0.10.3-update all my graphs remain empty when opening the dashboard. I need to tap inside the graph for it to be populated.
As example, after opening the dashboard:
After tapping inside the graph:
The type of graph (single or double series) or period displayed does not have an influence: all experience the same behavior.
I am on iOS/iPadOS.
Thanks for reporting. You are the 2nd to report this. I’ll look into it asap.

On my Android tablet the graphs showed the data ok after the update: no tap needed.
I use both single and double series.
Maybe OS related. What about the crashes? Are you still experiencing those, @Bernd_Gaykema?
Hi Erik,
I can inform you that I have NOT had any crashes since yesterday when the new test version went live (see Edit’s in earlier post).
For me the crash-problem is solved !!
Thank you so much for this great app. Good luck with the renovations

I’m on 10.3, but I still have to tap inside the graph to see any data, so like @SunBeech I still have the same issue.
I have the dashboards on both iPad and iPhone; same result.
The funny thing is, that I have a few graphs that don’t have any issues…
Carit,
Is it possible these “tap-to-wake-graphs” are flow driven, but the values it generates aren’t updated very often?
In other words, when you test start such a flow with a test value, do those graphs get updated as should (without the tap dancing ‘procedure’)?
Hi Peter,
The flows are measuring my power consumption from Nous A1Z Zigbee power plugs.
I have 6 of them.
They measure each minute and add the delta of previous measurement to a variable that I made the graph on.
It worked perfectly for a couple of weeks, then suddenly some of them stopped showing the graphs, while others just worked as before. Sometimes they show the graph and sometimes not.
And they are the same setup for all of them.
I manually tried to run the flow, but the graphs didn’t show either way.
Strange.
