There is two different kind of sync types and i think they both use UDP. One is for sound reactive wleds that can sync mic from one wled to the others. This one is found under usermods for my wleds and i can choose Send/Recive/Off.
The other one is for all the other (brightness, mode and color), this is the one i would like to be able to turn on and off with d.a.l.o.r. if possible. In wled app there is a button att the main screen when you are controling a light and if you go to settings and “Sync interfaces” you can choose different groups and see alot of settings. I can probably grab a screenshot for you if you need it
In home assistant there is two different enitites for send and recieve (turn on or off), i havent gotten around to test this but i would think this is for the brightness etc. because the other sync is usermods(i have preloaded wled from aliexpress).
Im not very techy savvy but i have choosen UDP port for both sync modes so that why i think they both use UDP.
