I’ve actually had someone donate the show5 gen3 - and you can access the device on the test version of the app
Ah cool. May be an idea for future devices then.
Can you point me to how I go about installing the test app? I’d be happy to run some tests and give any feedback
Echo Input (The smallest Echo Dot) does not Support ? Why not ? Please integrate it, so i can use it.
https://homey.app/en-au/app/com.amazon.alexa/Amazon-Alexa/test/
It’s just the URL of the normal app, then add /test/ at the end
Thank you!
Sure no problem, hope the new test version works for you ![]()
It can’t tell the weather, the news, say something, it can’t play music or even a noise … all it does it listen … the only thing that “might work” would be turning on/off do not disturb … maybe. What exactly would be the point of integrating the input with my app?

I would like to thank everyone for your suppoAthom have changed the way users support applications. So if you like and/or use this app please head over to the application page and hit the thumbs up “thanks button”.
It doesn’t cost you anything but a few seconds of your time, but I get a lovely email telling me someone liked my app.
Do you have already an idea on when the test app for Echo show 5 gen 3 will be released on the standard app ?
Some minutes ago I received and installed the new Echo Dot 5th gen (with clock) and an Echo Pop. I didn’t check before, if I can use it already with the Alexa App.
+1 for adding support for both devices ![]()
Thank you for spending time on this app .
Hey Jamie, I just saw that you added an “experimental section”, so I tried it out and I’m so happy cause it works really well, I got my Alexa enabled Oral-b toothbrush over lol and even my echo auto too!!! This is amazing, thank you ![]()
Hey, could it be that this App no longer has access to events concerning volume changes?
All my flows triggered upon setting the volume on any of my Alexa devices stopped working today. Setting the Volume through flows still works fine, just the trigger cards all seem to be broken. The values for the volume variables of the devices are also no longer updated either, so there is no way of accessing the current volume level of any Alexa device in Homey now.
I have already tried:
- Restarting all my Alexa devices
- Restarting Homey (PTP)
- Restarting my Router
- Reinstalling the app
- Switching to the experimental version
Are there any other steps I can try or is this just something that remains broken for now? The latter would be pretty sad since this is the only way I figured out how to make speakers connected to my Echo Dots via AUX output correspond to the Alexa device’s volume setting.
@Jamie again - thank you very much for this great app ![]()
Could you please implement the start of a website / url command for echo show devices?
Sorry are you able to screenshot which flow trigger you are refering to? If it is the “When volume changed” if thats not working, then you will need to contact Athom support, as it just using the default behaviour built into Homey.
(I did a quick test and It doesnt seem to be working for me on the latest RC either)
UPDATE: Never mind, they just seem to have fixed the login…that’s working again now. Lets see if other issues are now solved too… ![]()
UPDATE 2: This app seems to be all working fine again, so was just unlucky to test my flows when the Amazon server had some issues
. I do have some other issue, seems like the status isn’t always updated. Let’s say I have 2 Alexa’s, If I play music on device 1, and then start a flow to play music on device 2, it seems like it’s also still playing on the 1st one. (The music itself is not playing anymore on device 1).
(And card of a flow, seems like both are playing, which isn’t true)

Resolved: (original post)
Seems like a bigger issue, I just tried to setup some Alexa flows too, it took me a long time to figure out that it wasn’t my (complex) flow that wasn’t working, but the Alexa app. Thought I might be disconnected, but wasn’t. when I disconnected manually and tried to connect again, it showed an error page.
Seems like Amazon is updating its Alexa website too (https://alexa.amazon.com/), so this is probably causing the issues.
@Jamie, I’m using European server to login.
Hi,
I’ve the same problem as above for login to alexa, I’ve this screen when i try to login (european server) :
no news? Because the app still doesn’t work.
One thing I’ve noticed when the login error happens is that I’m not in the same local network with Homey and the login will fail.
Yeah I know, that wasn’t the case for me, it was the Amazon server being down, after 30 minutes everything worked again for me
What exactly isn’t working, and on which Amazon server, Europe, USA etc?
For me it is working fine at the moment
It’s been 3 weeks i’ve my homey pro 2023 and it still deosn’t work ![]()
I’m on the “EU and india” server and i always have the error page (same i’ve posted upper).
