Since a few weeks, the communication with my washing machine fails. Data from the machine to Homey works fine, but the other way doesn’t. For example, starting the machine (by a flow) isn’t working anymore (nothing happens) and it worked before.
I also get a warning ‘Device failure’. I’ve restarted the app, checked the Miele app (that works fine), logged out and in both in Miele app and Homey Miele app, restarted Homey: all the tips found on the internet. Without result. App version is 1.9.0 (newest).
Any suggestions to solve this? Should, for example, removing the device and creating a new one (I don’t like, as I’ve to reconstruct flows) solve?
It happens with me often. So I restart the app every 6 hours and when the rooms where Miele devices are active for more then 5 minutes. It works for me.
Thanks, but this is a disappointing workaround, not a real solution. I wonder if this is the best ‘solution’ at this moment and hope other users found a more ‘home automation respecting’ solution.
You can enable the Power User experiment in More → Settings → Experiments in the Homey mobile app, and create a Flow to automatically restart the app every 6 hours
Only the app developer can likely provide a “real” solution, so you should contact them.
In my opinion, restarting the app every X hours is definitely a good and practical workaround, since you can automate this with a Flow.
Hi guys! We got a couple of support mails regarding the same subject, and wanted to give you a quick update here as well.
Miele has confirmed that the latest update on their API side has had an unwanted side effect, which is no longer being able to use the start/stop commands. They are aware and planning to fix it with their coming scheduled update in the beginning of November.
