Hello Jone!

Ive tried to include the zwp S8, as second controller, but was not possible for me.
the roller shutter is included to homey but the controller coud not be associated.
What could I be doing wrong?

hi Alex, I don’t exactly know what you did and what is visible in your screen while you are trying to do the associate action. So from here, it’s really difficult to tell. But since the user manual of the ZWK10 seems soooo similar to the ZWP8, i am pretty sure it must be doable, following the instructions that I included above.

Hello!

I set up a roller blind in Homey. Then I followed these instructions:
The setup always stops in step 3 after 10 seconds.

Unfortunately, I am also experiencing issues with connecting my Fakro ARZ Komfort Solar blinds, as they are added as an unknown Z-Wave device. I find this disappointing and somewhat misleading, especially since Fakro Netherlands officially offers an app.

I used ChatGPT to translate this message into English.

Dear Fakro Netherlands,

Unfortunately, I am experiencing issues with controlling my Fakro ARZ Komfort Solar blinds through my Homey system, which I had expected to work. There is an official Homey app from Fakro Netherlands, which can be found at the following link:

Homey app Fakro Netherlands

When attempting to connect, my Fakro blinds are added as an unknown Z-Wave device. I find this disappointing and somewhat misleading, especially since Fakro Netherlands officially offers this app.

Through the app, I am able to contact the developer (Fakro Netherlands) via the email address homeyapp+fakro@305.nl, but unfortunately, I have not received a response. My email to info@fakronederland.ml also went unanswered. After reaching out via Facebook, I was advised to use this email address: webshop@fakronederland.nl.

After further investigation on the Homey Community forum, I discovered that other users have reported similar issues with connecting Fakro products. The likelihood of a response from the developer seems low, as also mentioned in this forum discussion: Homey Community Forum about Fakro

In short, I am currently unable to control my Fakro blinds, while my other blinds from a different brand are working seamlessly with my Homey system.

Could you assist me further?

Kind regards,
Mark Stevens

Good morning Mark,

Thank you for your message, and first of all, I’m sorry to hear that the blind is not working.

The app was developed by an external party, so the email address ‘homeyapp+fakro@305.nl’ does not come directly to us. Since we aren’t heavily involved in this ourselves, it’s challenging to provide an immediate answer. The forum was also new to us, so thank you for sharing, as it’s something we should indeed focus on.

I have a few questions regarding the blind:

  • What exactly is not working with the blind?
  • Does it work if you try to operate it with the buttons directly on the blind?
  • Could you send me a photo of the label on the blind and of the control buttons?
  • Besides the Homey, do you also have a FAKRO remote control? If so, does it work?

I look forward to your response so we can work on a solution.

Kind regards,

Hi, a Fakro question. I have a ZWS230. It is finally working fine in homey, but it is very chatty. I’ve been having the flooding the zwave network since upgrading to Early 23, and my farro motor has tens of thousands of Tx Rx. Anyone found a solution.
Robin

I have been emailing with Fakro for some time about the app.
The app needs an update to make the new products work again.
Due to personnel changes at Fakro, the app had disappeared from view a bit.
Fortunately, they are actively working on it. Below is the email I received.

Good afternoon Mark,
Just a quick update.
I have now been in contact with the developer. However, they are no longer involved with Homey at all and have referred me to their former contact person from Homey itself.
Homey is now looking for a suitable party to get the app fully functional again.

Hi All,

I’m using this app for my 2 AMZ zwave solar sunshades. Over the last winter the batteries drained. I noticed this when I tried to use the sunshades in spring. The batteries were both drained up to a point where they were damaged beyond repair. I bought 2 new batteries from Fakro.
I am just wondering if this is something common and how your experiences are with the batteries. I am thinking if it could be the zwave connection to the Homey draining the battery.

I don’t have them myself.
But, can you check with Homey the power in the batteries?
In that case, you can Homey let you send a message if the power gets under a certain minimum.

No unfortunately Homey cannot see the battery percentage
