[APP] EcoDim - Affordable & reliable LED dimmers for everyone!

But still the other problems are not fixed… too bad, but I’m going to send an email as well…
thanks for your reply

I now also have it on one unit. the rest functions as it should….

That’s what you get when buying “premium” products .. the cheap ali stuff is all open source and is better represented here on the forum. They ( ecodim ) just don’t care and don;t read / interact here.

Athom should be doing more about that, but also don’t care.. zigbee2mqtt DO have good support for the ecodim-products AND it’s open source so you CAN change and suddenly don’t loose functionality.

@TedTolboom TedTolboom I send a diagnostic report to Athom. This is de provided ID: e497d69c-b888-4550-b926-42052c5b83a4. I hope you can fix the error. By the way I have still time-out issues on the Ecodim 05 dual zigbee dimmer which is in the room next to the dimmer which have the UNSUP_CLUSTER_COMMAND error.

Best regards,

Harm Holtackers

Hi Harm, @drenso has taken over the development of the EcoDim app.

Great to see that many users for the EcoDim app! We have recently updated the app to modern standards and also updated the underlying Homey libraries, with the latter being the root cause for the UNSUP_CLUSTER_COMMAND errors with specific dimmer versions. Unfortunately, that was not found during our extensive tests due to the amount of different versions out there, but our latest release fixes that.

If you are in need of support, make sure to send us an email using the address noted in the topic start! We cannot follow everything different source of users comments, so having it all in one mailbox works best. Until now the mail was taking a detour through the EcoDim customer support, but we have removed that step to be able to provide faster and more adequate support in the future.

As an electric engineer I can say the ecodim models are the top dimmer units available on the market. They pretty much work with any dimmable lamp and have no issues with exotic bulbs nor any other. I advise them to anyone that wants dimmable lights and some sort of app control. Up till now i had no fails whatsoever with these.

Hi, I’m not sure if the forum is the right place to report app issues, but I’ll give it a try.

I believe there may be a problem in the app related to the Ecodim DUO dimmers. They behave differently in the Homey app compared to the regular dimmers.

First issue: Whenever the dimmer is operated via Homey — even if the action is also performed physically — Homey shows a red warning at the top saying: “Timeout: took longer than 1000 ms.” The light itself turns on, off, or dims correctly, but the error still appears. This seems unusual.

Second issue: When dimming to the minimum level using the rotary knob, Homey reports the dim value as 0%. It looks like the app does not receive float values and instead rounds down to 0%. I noticed this behaviour quite a while ago but couldn’t determine the cause.

Could you please check whether these observations indicate a valid error?

You might want to reach out to the developers op the EcoDim app (Drenso):
