Thanks for the quick reply! You mention that I should install the test version, but the test version of what? If you just mean dive into the TaHoma app settings within Homey, then I’ve just created and sent a device log with ID 1643770509. There does not appear to be an unsupported device, only a Shutter as expected.
I assume cloud-only doesn’t need to be an issue, so long as Homey can access the Connectivity Kit through an API.
Thanks for your help! I managed to install the test version of the Tahoma app for Homey, and my device was somehow identified as a Velux Roller Blind (io). Selecting this device type when adding worked flawlessly, and my first flows are running!
One suggestion for improvement, although that might be more a Homey thing: would it be possible to ‘reverse’ this process? I.e. it would be convenient to log into my Somfy account and then having the Homey app show me the devices that I can add.
I agree that would be nice, but Homey doesn’t work that way. Their process makes you select the required type first. Normally that works fine, but as Somfy just sells the motors, manufacturers of the end user devices have decided to mix and match the motors, so what used to be a Velux motor is now used in many other things.
This app is probably around 9 years old now, and things were much more consistent back than. So, with hindsight I would have structured the app very differently and had more generic drivers, but it’s too late to make a complete design change now as it would break everything for existing users.
The new app settings page is the only way I could think of to help. Ideally I would like to launch the installation of the devices from there but that doesn’t seem possible.
In hindsight most of us might have done things slightly differently, but with your explanation in mind I think the device settings page in the test app is a great workaround!
I have trouble to log in into the Somfy app. I reset the password but seeing two different ways. One with no-reply@smartsecurity.somfy.com en one with info.nl@somfy.com. Do you know the difference and Which one to use to link the attached devices from by TaHoma?
First of all great work on maintaining this app! Love the local control and it works well!
However I have some RTS plugs and some IO plugs. I can add the IO devices as a switch as normal but I can only add my RTS Plugs as a RTS light with timer which results in status indicator that don’t function.
Is this a known bug or is there a way to add them as plugs/ sockets anyway? They are all added as sockets inside Tahoma
Just a quick check. Does this app together with Homey Pro 2026 work with the Connectivity Kit? Just for connecting one IO and one RTS motor. I’ve just started to look into it but I get the feeling Somfy places the most emphasis on the Tahoma switch. And the latest post I could find in this topic referring to the kit is from 2024.
Thanks for the quick reply. Does that also imply that the Tahoma can work local only? Not sure yet if that is a requirement for me, but good to know the differences.
