Advanced flow, alarm_contact, when card and exclusions

Hi!

I have an advanced flow with this when card:

  • In Home zone, when any alarm_contact is running

But I want to exclude some devices, I don’t want to use all devices.

How can I do? I’ve been turning the problem over and over in my mind without finding a solution.

The Home zone, is normally the top level zone that includes all devices.

Some options:

  • Use the zone card of a sub-zone/room that includes only the specific devices you want;
  • If needed, you can create a separate zone with only the devices you want or to exclude a certain set of devices. This does mean that a room might be split up into several rooms;
  • Alternatively, instead of using the zone card, use the trigger cards of the individual devices.

Further: you are checking all alarms right now. Not sure whether that is your intention, but you can also specify specific types of alarms (e.g. battery alarms).

Thanks for your reply. I can’t create sub zones for readibility reasons. (I already have 16 zones!)

I find a way ; I have renamed the only devices I want to exclude with a specific tag, that I check with a logic card “and”.

My “when” card checks only “alarm_contact” :slight_smile:

@Nicolas Can’t you use this setting in the sensor so that it doesn’t count towards zone activity?
