I succesfully added one Sonoff temperature device to Homey (early 2023) and I tried to add another but this failed. I removed the added device and tried to readd it but this failed. I removed another Sonoff device but this device could not be readded either. So, now I have -2 Sonoff devices instead of 3 or more. I cannot figure out what goes on. It seems like a lottery to add devices. I have tried to install a zigbee extender as a router and after this installation add one of the Sonoff devices as an end device but this also failed. So what to do? Is there a varying maximum number of zigbee devices that can be added to Homey (early 2023)?
Yes there is a limit, have a look to this thread…
I’m using also the Sonoff temoerature sensor, and I had no problems with the installation.
Have you tried to restart the Sonoff-App and/or to restart the HP23?
Yes I tried to restart the app and my HP23. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall the app. I emptied app cache memory. But none of these measures solved my problem. How does HP23 handle zigbee devices? Theoretically a 16 bit address should be able to handle 2 to the power of 16 which is a lot of devices. I have three aeotec extenders that I think work as zigbee routers. At least one of them extended my possibility to read outside devices. But I think it depends on the HP23 how zigbee devices are added or not. But still, I cannot find a solution to my problem adding Sonoff devices.
Does it happen only with Sonoff devices?
In that case I would raise the question in the Sonoff thread for the community app
or raise a ticket with the link from the app page of the official app
Depends which app you are using.
