A sensor to see if someone opened my mailbox. 80 METERS away from the house - With a twist

Hello!
I receive a lot of post in my mailbox and previously it has been stolen before i managed to go and get it. Therefore it would great if i could get notified when the post gets deliver AND when someone opens my mailbox.

The problem is that my apartment is too far away from my mailbox for the signals to be received. As illustrated: My fathers apartment is much closer to the postbox. Could i somehow extend my Homey / Reciever to my fathers home and make it report back to me? Also, are there ways to increase signal strength on the outside of the house and which prototocol has the furthest reach.

The solutions i have thought of, but dont know if are doable:I have a Homey Pro and a Aqara Door/Window Sensor T1 but the signal is lost when im 10-20 meters away from my home.

1: Increase signal strength and use a window/door sensor to see when my mailbox has been opened.

2: Use my Aqara G4 Video Doorbell to somehow recognize when a RED Post car has been driving by.

Is this doable and what would be the smartest apporach? Thanks!

Zigbe and zwave deivces build a “mesh” network.

Every powered (not battery) device will be a repeater.

So if you can add a few powered devices every 5m (indoors) or 10m (outdoo) you can put a sensor (zigbee or zwave) in your postbox.

That sensor can be a battery powered one (as it does not need to build a mesh, its just using it)

I got my speaker hub and 2 doorsensors yesterday and connected them to HA. With the HA community app (see here) was able to import those HA devices into Homey. And must say: range is GREAT! Finally seem to have found a solution for my mailbox 2 stories below my apartment, no other protocol reached that far (and I was unable to place extra routers in the middle) time will tell if it keeps working as it is now, but first impression is awesome. Even with the sensor placed inside the metal mailbox…

And you always get a notification on your phone in the Yolink app itself if you like of course.

I asked YoLink and Athom for a YoLink Homey app (as well as in the Homey Community app thread), but you never know if and when that is going to happen. Should be possible though, since a HA integration is already live.
