I’m a Claude user, and accidentally discovered your app. It sounds interesting, but I wouldn’t know what to use it for. I’m curious though. Do you have some examples?
I found an issue with one of my flows. I would like Claude to check on my doorbell to give a description of that person and than send it to my mobile, but I got this error:
@Borssie Hey! Yes, you’ll need API credits to use this app. Unfortunately, Anthropic’s terms of service currently prevent the use of your existing subscription. Hopefully they’ll make a full U-turn on this someday.
From my experience, it’s not that expensive for simple scans, but I would recommend rate limiting it somehow, like at most once every 10 minutes or something.
I have Claude Pro, but when I ask something it says “no devices found” / “you have no devices installed” — even though everything is properly set up in the Homey app. I can ask Claude things through the app and it works fine. I also have MCP installed in Claude — and in Claude (web) everything works perfectly. Has anyone here actually gotten this working?
Hi, this is exactly what I was looking for. But how come most of the then-cards are advanced?
For instance I’d like to ask claude whenever I leave my home AND any doors/windows are open “which doors/windows are open?” and give the response in a variable I can push to my user. I can’t see why Ask Claude is only available for advanced flows.
Also, I seem to be unable to authorize the app for homey mcp. After clicking “Connect to homey” and approving the app in the popup that appears, it just keeps waiting and waiting, and finally timing out on a callback GET request.
Edit: The MCP authentication suddenly worked, so that’s all good now. Now I only wish I could ask Claude in simple flows.
Edit2: I just read up a bit on the documentation, and realized that if a flow uses “tokens” it automatically becomes advanced. So I guess I just gotta get more advanced and start using my desktop to edit flows.
Optional: use your Claude subscription instead of an API key
Right now, this Homey app uses the Claude Developer Platform with an API key, billed pay-as-you-go. That isn’t changing, your current setup keeps working exactly as it does today.
Anthropic announced that from June 15, 2026, Claude Pro/Max/Team/Enterprise subscribers will get a separate monthly credit for Agent SDK usage, which includes apps like this one:
Pro: $20/month
Max 5x: $100/month
Max 20x: $200/month
The credit refreshes monthly and is per-user, so it can’t be shared between accounts. If you already pay for a Claude subscription for other reasons (Claude.ai, interactive Claude Code, etc.), this credit is essentially free additional usage and could replace what you’re currently paying in API costs for this app. If you only use Claude through this Homey app, a regular API key is likely still the better option, since the credit roughly matches API pricing.
I’m looking into whether the Homey app can support subscription-based authentication as a second option alongside the existing API-key flow. The authentication mechanism for third-party Agent SDK apps isn’t documented yet, and Anthropic notes that API keys remain the recommended path for automation use cases. I don’t have a timeline yet, but I’ll share an update once I know what’s feasible. Expect this sometime after June 15 at the earliest.
