Zigbee mesh: do unsupported devices contribute?

I have a zigbee plug (220V) that is not supported by an app.
It is connected to homey as a standard zigbee device and working fine.

I know powered devices contribute tomthe zigbee mesh.
But do they always contribute? Or is only for devices that are supported by an app?

Most mains-powered devices will contribute to the mesh as long as they are part of the network, which in this case it is.
