So, after installing my tado equipment in January, I got my first email from tado saying I need to replace batteries in one of my radiators:
Dear Customer,
We wanted to let you know that the batteries in your Smart Radiator Thermostat VA3474403072 in the room Main Bedroom are low. Your thermostat requires two new alkaline AA batteries (LR6). Don’t worry if you can’t change the batteries immediately. When your Smart Radiator Thermostat does not have enough charge to function, it will automatically close the radiator’s valve and the heating will remain off until you replace the batteries.
They made it less than 3 months. I don’t think it’s a particularly challenging task for for this radiator - the tado receiver / dongle thing is in the next room, less than 4m away and the schedule is very straightforward:
So far, that’s even less battery endurance than Popp Z-Wave TRVs that I replaced
