Vimar View Gateway 01411

Hello, so I know there is a Vimar app for homey that only supports Zigbee enabled switches, I do have though an IP gateway that does not support zigbee and matter, I made an app request more than 1 year ago but nothing moved yet, does anyone know if there is a way to make the 01411 switch work in Homey?

Thanks

Which mobile app does it use?

Vimar View

It might be possible, but that would be difficult to build an app for. It uses external authentication with deeplinks, which would technically be possible to implement, as long as the site supports iframes. But it won’t be user friendly (you’d need to have a PC to set up the Homey app in that case).

Thanks for your reply! Really appreciate you looking into this. Do you think there’s any feasible solution or workaround you could suggest to get the 01411 working with Homey?

Does the VIMAR VIEW also have a website where you can control it?

No, but they have a guide on their website on how to make an integration, it might be helpful, here’s the link Guide

It appears that those docs are only for companies wanting to integrate with the VIMAR system.

I’m not entirely sure if the guide is relevant, but it states that system integrators who want to develop an integration with the By-me Plus home automation system to read statuses and send controls from their own client. So, as far as I understand it, it’s for people who want to be able to control Vimar devices from third-party clients. Does this apply to our case?

Anyway, after some research on the web, I’ve found a solution to integrate Vimar in Home Assistant. Maybe the same method could be applied to Homey? Here’s the link to the integration: GitHub - andreaprosseda/vimar-byme-plus-homeassistant: Vimar By-me Plus Integration for Home Assistant

I’m not sure, but it looks like it’s for companies developing an official integration.

That might be possible, but I’m unfamiliar with Python/Home Assistant so I can’t help with that. You can request an app here:
