The new Device Updates function has not been able to update even one device
:
Was anyone more successful?
Itās still in beta.
This might help though:
For battery operated devices, first wake up the device by pressing the pair button briefly, then start the update process Ɣnd keep pressing the pair button briefly every other second, to keep the device awake
Thanks Peter! Iāll try that tonight.
The button-trick didnāt do it. Itās a matter (pun intended) of repeating the update until the unitās update-percentage gets to 100% and reboots.
i have almost 100 devices of different kinds, i have never seen one update, yet! ![]()
Mine i completely empty
So another āit doesnāt workā post without any detail ![]()
Just an idea: When you list the devices + fw version, it might help Athom, you and other users to extend the nĀŗ of supported devicesā¦
Note: not each and every device can be supported, it depends on the manufacturers & firmware availability.
Which protocol? Only Zigbee and Z-Wave are supported, but only very few apps. WiFi devices can just be updated in the manufacturer app, same for hub-connected devices, so they donāt show in Homey
And Matter devices. I believe that most reports here on the forum of users that have actually got the option to update the firmware, relate to Matter devices.
Why does the app say thereās an update if the device isnāt supported for this feature yet?
My Aqara FP300ās running on matter over thread updated a couple of days ago
Hi .
This week i started to get all the updates for the Sonoff devices, temp sensors and termostats.
And when it updates the device it takes hours, the temp sensors was drained of battery power, during the update. so i had to change all the batteries afterwards.
They start out with 3 out of 4 (prox. 70-75%) on battery power indikators.
Iāve used the firmware update feature several times.
It has worked well for Third Reality devices, both main and battery powered, with an ocassional failure that can be resolved by a second attempt.
It has also worked for Sonoff devices. If itās battery powered, I trigger the update and then check a few hours later. It will install the update when itās ready to install it, and that might be an hour later. Attempting to wake it up, seems more likely to cause an update failure.
And, I have tried to update my numerous Zooz devices without any success. It will start the update process and fail everytime, sometimes at less than 100% and sometimes after reaching 100% but it always fails.
