Testing Zemismart KES-606US with Homey: switch mode, scene mode and device settings

Hi everyone,

I’m from Zemismart, and I wanted to share a quick look at one of our Zigbee wall switch devices working with Homey: the Zemismart KES-606US.

Product page:

This is a Zigbee neutral push wall switch series available in different gang versions.
In Homey, we’ve been working on making the device more flexible, so it can be used not only as a normal wall switch, but also in scene-style setups depending on how users want to build their automations.

Device View in Homey

Switch Mode vs Scene Mode

One useful part is that the device can be configured in different modes:

Switch Mode

Works as a controllable relay for lights or other connected loads.

Scene Mode

Works more like a wireless button, allowing the switch to trigger Homey scene without directly controlling the relay.

For a normal lighting setup, Switch Mode is probably the most familiar option.
You can control the relay directly from Homey, include it in lighting scenes, or use such as:

  • Turn on hallway lights when motion is detected

  • Turn off living room lights when everyone leaves home

  • Automatically turn lights off after a timer expires

Using Scene Mode with Homey

Scene Mode is useful when you want the wall button to trigger automation instead of acting only as a physical light switch.

Some examples:

  • Use a wall button near the door to turn off multiple devices

  • Trigger curtains, lighting, and smart plugs together from one switch

Device Settings in Homey

There are also some device settings available in Homey, including:

  • Relay state

  • Position light

This can be useful for different installation preferences, especially in bedrooms or living rooms where LED indicator behavior matters.

Example Setup Ideas

A few examples of how this can fit into Homey setups:

  • One gang controls the main light in Switch Mode

  • Another gang works as a scene button for Homey Scene

  • Indicator light follows relay status

  • Power-on behavior can be set to memory mode or a fixed state after power recovery

  • Scene Mode can work together with other Zemismart devices such as:

    • Curtains

    • Roller shades

    • Smart plugs

    • Sensors

Looking for Feedback

This post is not meant as a big product announcement.
We mainly wanted to share the current Homey experience and hear feedback from real users.

If you have any suggestions, ideas, or feature requests for Zemismart devices or the Homey integration, feel free to reply here or send them directly to me.

Thanks, and we’d be happy to hear your thoughts from real Homey setups.

Hi, Those screenshots do not seem to be from Homey, but another app/smart home system. You may want to replace them with actual screenshots from Homey.

Yes indeed that’s SmartThings, not Homey

AI Slop.

Thanks for pointing this out. You are right, the screenshots in the post were not from Homey and should not have been used here. We will replace them with actual Homey screenshots and update the post accordingly.

The purpose of the post was to collect feedback about the KES-606US behavior in Homey, especially switch mode, scene mode and device settings. We appreciate the correction and will make sure future posts show the real Homey experience only.

The post has now been corrected. We welcome any corrections or feedback so we can gain a deeper understanding of Homey and pursue more in-depth cooperation.
