Hi all,
I’m looking for some advice on my smart lighting setup. I have a feeling I’m crashing my Zigbee network and would like to verify a potential solution.
My Setup:
- Relay: Sonoff ZBMINI, installed behind the main switch in a two-way/three-way switch setup.
- Lights: Smart Zigbee bulbs (Ikea).
- Living Room: 2 light fixtures (5 bulbs total) on one circuit.
- Kitchen: 5 spotlights on a second circuit.
The Problem:
When I turn off the lights using the standard rocker switch, all 5 bulbs on that circuit are completely cut off from power.
My Questions:
- Is it true that by ‘hard’ powering off 5 bulbs at once (which also act as repeaters), I am destabilizing my entire Zigbee network? Could this be the cause of my unreliable Flows?
- Would replacing the current rocker switches with momentary (push-button) switches be a solution?
- The goal is to keep the bulbs permanently powered, and have the momentary switch just send a pulse to the Sonoff, which would then digitally turn the lights on/off. Is this possible with this relay, and if so, how should it be wired?
I must maintain the classic look and feel of the wall switches (a requirement from my wife), so smart panels are not an option.
Thanks a lot for your help!
