I want to smart control my heat pump so that I can make optimal use of the yield from my solar panels.
Edit: I use my heatpump for floorheating, cooling and warm water (180 ltr).
I have:
• Daikin Altherma 3 heat pump Type number EHFH03S18DJ3V
• Homey Pro 2023
• Information on power yield/usage via HomeWizard on my P1 meter.
I currently do not have an internet connection on my Daikin Altherma 3 heat pump. A LAN adapter is required for this. The LAN adapter costs ±€ 500 (including installation).
Before I spend that, I want to know the following:
→ Can I smart control my heat pump using the Onecta app and Homey Pro?
PS: With the LAN adapter that fits my Daikin heat pump, I can only connect to the Onecta app and cannot implement a smart grid application.
Edit 2: So my idea is to regulate the heatpump (both heating and warm water) with Homey pro via the Daikin Onecta app.
I am not a techie or expert, so perhaps it is different. This is how I figured it out, so all input is welcome. And I am located in the Netherlands.
I have a Daikin Altherma 3, but I don’t have solar panels yet. Instead of using the Daikin thermostat, I have a Google Nest (3rd generation) connected to the system.
In Homey, I can control the heat pump directly, mainly by adjusting the water temperatures, both for underfloor heating and domestic hot water. However, I rarely change these settings, i configured them once and left them as they are.
On a daily basis, what I actually use is turning the heating on and off based on a schedule, which I do through the Nest rather than the Daikin. In practice, I probably wouldn’t even need to have the heat pump connected to Homey, since the main control is handled by the thermostat connected to the pump.
Thank you for your reply.
If I understand it correct, you control your heatpump by using the Google nest and it is possible to control the heatpump from Homey pro via the Google nest?
And do you have the heatpump connected with internet directly or is your control without internet directly on your heatpump?
If this is possible then it could open new possibilities for me.
