My guess is that you need to set the credentials for each Homey instanse. One for your Pro and second for your SHS.
Thatâs correct, itâs required to setup the local account twice for both Homeyâs (and I you want with different credentials, they are stored separately on each Homey)
Hi. Iâm brand new to honey self hosted, and the honey ecosystem.
I have a Homey docker on Unraid, but I canât log in with Root or my own credentials. Why is that? Any workarounds or suggestions to how I gain local access?
I have tried searching around, with no luck Iâm afraid. All replies are welcomed. Thanks in advance.
SOLVED: The account must be created through the web app. Ridicoulous. But ok..

Process is the same for self hosted server
Thanks for chiming in. Iâm using the latest IOS app, i can find my own name under family and guests, but no way to allocate myself local access or allowing my account to gain local access. So i find it quite frustrating..

How to get this done?
best rgrds, Jos
Settings/users doesnt exist anymore. I do have settings/family and guests. but when selecting my account only get the option to delete my account not allow local
Hi, I cannot do this, I am added as the owner, but I cannot use my credentials to access my local Self Service Server on my NAS. I can access the app, or the we portal, send an invite and if I try to use it I get an error message come up. If I log myself out of everywhere and use the link from the invoice to add a new user, I try to create a new email and password and it tells me no user exists with that email address? If I enter my own owner credentials it tells me I am already logged in?
Can anyone help here? Bit confused. I have a Homey cloud server set up too but am I trying to use the local self service server now, do I need to delete my cloud one? I have no option to make myself as the owner local.
That assumes you already have another user setup, my issue is I cannot set up another user in the first place.
Are you the owner of this SHS then? Or is there another account with more rights?
Seems like you are logged in as a user with insufficient rightsâŚ
Hi, I am the owner. I am the only one with an account. I can log in on the app and portal with my account and it states I am the owner. I got a bit further by creating a new user on the link you get to add a new user, but when I clicked to complete it I still got an error message and it doesnât show ups in the user list? But stuck with this.
Would it have anything to do with my account being setup on the cloud HOMEY that I was using? Before I got the self host server.
Just currious if you have this installed on a Synology NAS with a VPN client running? I used to use SHS on my Synology and when I had the VPN client running on the NAS, it was always giving me a different IP which caused login issues. If I disconnected from the VPN server, everything worked fine by accessing SHS at the fixed IP of my Synology on port 4859/web/login-local (i.e. 192.168.0.100:4859/web/login-local).
I am running it on a UGREEN NAS through Docker. Sorry I do not know if that means I am using SHS to log into the local server? I get the login screen load up fine though with the IP address I am using if that helps at all?
I think the issue is I am not able to setup a local user?
Might be something wrong in the current build. Iâm not able to create another user myself. If I share the link and access it outside of my local network, I get an API error. I set mine local access up on an earlier build, so perhaps something is currently broken.
Yes that is what I get. Does Homey offer any official support at all on the self host server?
Sure.
See this doesnât help, you can submit a support request here:
