Propper backup of flows, how?

As a spin-off from [APP][Pro] Iungo - Realtime insights in your energy consumption - #3 by JohanP

I’m now trying to figure out which of my flows use Triggers (and worse; Tags) of this specific App/Device. (Tried switching off the App, it only showed me Flows with triggers that broke, Flow checker didn’t show what I need either…)

Messing around with a not working Google Home Nest last week made me realise that removing a Device (of removing/updateing an App) could end up in losing Cards and Tags in your Flows without ever knowing what the Card was..

So here I am, adding Notes to my Flows i think will be affected and creating screenshots of them. Realising I will have to do that again next time is I change any of the Flows…

Question is, is there a bater way to backup your Flows ? I know there is a Repair-script, but i want a backup… And easy way to repair my flows manually (so the repair script is a step to far I think) An automated screenshot reation would be fine, so I can see what I need to fix…

I printed all my flows to a PDF (via my Chrome browser) as an extra backup/plan B next to my backup subscription from Athom. Whenever I change a flow I create a new PDF.

I know this is very manually intensive work, but it does allow you to always recreate the flow from scratch without any of the details being lost (like unknown flowcards of apps your have not installed anymore).

I am also interested in a more efficient method. For now, this works for me.

Sounds a bit like my screenshots, but thats hard work if it’s more than one screen.

How do you actually print a flow and does it do multiple pages ? Didn’t know Homey had a ‘print’ option, or is it just the browser print-page ?

I use Chrome’s standard/build in print function. You can select the standard PDF printer provided by Chrome.

In the printer settings window you can specify the zoom level. It shows you the zoomed out page as a preview. For large canvases, just zoom out until the complete flow fits the preview and then print it.

When opening the PDF you, of course, need to zoom in, but all the details are there (it’s a high quality PDF).

Ok, didn’t work (yet) in Firefox.
Didn’t look like it would work in Chrome either, it didn’t print everything in the flow.

Funy, next time i started save as PDF it did show the whole canvas.

Livesaver ! Printed all my flows now. Thanks !
