Problems with LG Web OS app

Hi all,

I’m running into issues when installing the LG Web OS app. It seems to find the tv but the tv is rejecting the command. I have an LG C8 from 2018 with WebOS 05.50.60 so it’s a bit older.

The error I receive is request to [ip]:1877 failed reason: connect ECONNREFUSED [IP]:1877

I found an older topic saying the LG Web OS app is bad, but that’s from 2019. I also checked the ports of my tv with NMAP and it refuses the 1877 port (it accepts 3000 though). So that may be the root cause of my problem.

Any advice to continue with this matter? I also see there is a Web OS plus which is 2 years old, but that seems to be a bit too technical for me.

[edit] to add on this I just tried the ThinQ app, which does find my pc. But then I get an error from homey that my WebOS version is not supported.

As a 2018 WebOS tv owner, I can recommend the WebOS-plus community app, the best by far:

Just install it using the command line. Use the forum Search tool on “how to cli” for instuctions.
