openWB (open source based wallbox) supported by Homey?

I am wondering if anyone is using openWB together with Homey?

From their homepage:

What is openWB and what makes it special?
openWB is an innovative, open source-based energy management software paired with charging technology for electric cars and hybrids that enables dynamic PV charging and the control of other electrical consumers. The key advantage of openWB is the cross-manufacturer integration of a large number of energy devices/components such as meters, PV inverters and home storage systems.

Especially their implementation of ISO15118 makes it IMHO a very interesting wallbox for home automation.

The openWB Pro and openWB Pro+ define charging technology through the integration of HLC (High Level Communication) in accordance with ISO15118. Both models support the “Plug and Charge” process, which enables automatic recognition and differentiation of vehicles. If supported by the vehicle, the state of charge (SoC) can be read out directly, making it even more user-friendly and efficient to determine a specific battery status at a defined point in time and to optimize charging with lower and upper limits in terms of battery health.

Unfortunately the homepage seems to be in German only. :frowning: But Google Translator should be able to help.

You can easily find the answer on the Apps page:

The answer is:

Just because there is no app, doesn’t mean that it is not working with Homey. I have for example NEXENTRO Switching Actuators from Insta GmbH working perfectly with Homey. Fun fact with regards to other discussions in this forum regarding Zigbee firmware updates: Through an Android or iOS app firmware updates via a direct bluetooth connections are working seamlessly with the NEXENTRO actuators. Through Matter or MQTT other app independent methods are existing. If you read on the openWB forum people have integrated openWB with Nodered throug MQTT.

Then you can integrate the WB also with Mqtt into Homey

Use MQTT Client app to connect to your Broker.
Then you can use flows to read MQTT topics to import the data into a virtual device.

Or in addition you can install MQTT Hub app. Then you can import topics into a virtual device.

I use openwb together with Homey for years - you can use mqtt as the communcation protocol

Thanks for the reply. That is good to know. I would assume it is quite some manual effort, or? I’ve not yet integrated a device via MQTT to Homey. Does it work flawlessly with advanced flows?

more or less straight forward  via mqtt

here an example flow for you:

I created a virtual device “stop charging”
