Hmm, that’s a socket, not a button…
And what’s the problem with a virtual socket instead of a virtual button/switch?
The function is the same. It can also be switched on or off, just like a button/switch. It’s also possible to use a different standard icon or even add emojis to the name, that the virtual socket doesn’t look like a virtual socket:
However, I’m not saying that it’s not possible with the Device Capability app and an AVD. But for simple functions such as pressing buttons or switching, the build-in virtual devices are completely sufficient. So this was just an alternative suggestion.
Furthermore, every additional app requires RAM, and Homey’s RAM is limited. And the DC app requires a relatively high memory usage, at least for me. Therefore, in my opinion, it would be a bad idea to use the DC app just because you need a simple on/off function.
Btw, I mentioned it already in post #16 and #18 that I’m talking about a virtual socket and not a button/switch.
I found the ram usage, tbh its almost nothing for this app. Im keeping it because it does what it should do. It is handy tough to keep in mind the impact of these apps memory wise, didnt realise it was so limited (feels a bit low budget that it has so little room tbh, but maybe its more then enough. Im at 50%ish now).
