New house making smarter

Hello everyone,

A few months ago I bought a house, and since this week we are finally able to move in. I’m planning to make our home a bit smarter and intend to purchase a Homey Pro as the central hub.

I’ve been considering installing smart smoke detectors and am currently looking at the ones from Frient (around 8 units). We have a fairly large house with three floors, so I would like to place detectors in several key areas.

In addition, I’m planning to buy smart plugs, most likely from INNR, as they also use the Zigbee protocol. If needed, I would also consider adding a few Zigbee extenders on different floors to improve coverage.

I will probably also need some CO detectors. At the moment I’m looking at the Heiman CO Sensor, which also communicates via Zigbee.

Later on, I plan to expand the system further with other devices such as lights, wall plugs, motion sensors, and so on.

What do you think of this setup so far? Does anyone have experience with any of the products mentioned above?

Thanks in advance!

First of all, welcome to the Homey Community!

Welcome only_lilly,

I use frient devices, … you might run into the known Zigbee issues of Homey, whuich I do …
You might consider another protocal like Z-Wave, maybe the FIBARO Smoke Sensor 2.

I’ve heard only good things about frient smoke detectors , maybe ur zigbee mesh network was not great? I’ll give it a try!

My concern is with Homey’s Zigbee implementation, not frient products, you can inform yourself here on this forum about Homey and Zigbee issues.
