Motion Aware Philips hue without Philips and random zigbee devices?

With the new Philips Hue bridge pro, there is the function Motion Aware.

Would this be a future that would be build or could be built in homey so you can do it with universal Zigbee devices?

I do not have the knowledge on how it works but is seems to me that a lot of devices share the same protocol as Philips Hue, and it should work without anything for Philips Hue.

Or is it so that Philips Hue has uses his own Zigbee protocol with their special construction inside?

I am curious if it is possible to do the same and not having to go into the rabbit hole of the Philips Hue ecosystem.

Even if it was possible, I don’t think that Athom has the resources to develop such a niche feature. And you need to know the field characteristics of each universal Zigbee device. To me Motion Aware is just a gimmick. Just buy a simple motion detector in stead.
