i am in the middle of switching from Smartthings to Homey and have a bunch of monoprice zwave door contact sensors that i can’t get into Homey…any help?
If there is no app for these devices, then these devices are usually not supported by Homey.
However, you can try to pair the sensors as generic Z-Wave devices: Devices → + → New device → Z-Wave
If this does not work, you will not be able to add the sensors via detours.
I was able to pair to a Minoprice recessed door contact switch. I started by adding a generic z-wave device. Homey popped and suggested to use Vision Security app which worked! There seems a tamper feature on the sensor because I was fooled until I closed the sensor into its container.
I believe this had some relation to Aeon at one time and so i was able to use the using Aeotech app but I didn’t realize it needed to be in its case to work like many Aeotec devices.
For me this is the perfect shape to use in a mailbox sensor because of the location of the magnet and mounting in the mailbox. The sensor made a direct single hop connection to Homey pro hub like most of my Aeotec devices do. this is interesting because the mailbox is about 120feet (36m) to the Homey Hub. There are several wall switches along the way that could cut the distance by 1/3.
So I’m tickled this old sensor worked!
