Most importantly the firmware update didn’t worked.
I have few eve weather devices, with new firmware since April. Couldn’t update the via Homey->homekit. Yesterday swapped to HomeKit->Homey and updated successfully.
This has been my experience as well. I’m surprised it isn’t more widely known or complained about. Nor why Athom haven’t addressed the issue by now.
Please note Thread & zigbee both share the same chip (called Multiprotocol) @ Pro 2023;
It’s not recommended to connect devices of both protocols. I don’t say it’s a cause of your issues, but it can be a (big) factor (Athom hasn’t pusblished this information, which they should imho).
Also wifi 2.4GHz signals can interfere, depending on the channels used.
