Light bulb in energy card?

I’m curious about one thing: if I have several Philips Hue, IKEA, etc. bulbs, I know their power consumption, e.g., 6W. Is it really that difficult to make each bulb in HomeyPro have a power consumption function? And then it could be visible in the energy tab? It seems simple to me, because in this case, we enter the bulb’s power in the settings, and the system calculates the power consumption based on how long it’s on. Is there any possibility of such a thing?

In advanced settings of my Hue gu10 lightbulbs I can add two power consumptions. When on and off.

To add to @Wim_Post‘s suggestion: Homey will track and interpolate the energy usage (when the light is dimmed) when configuring those settings.

  • However, the device will not show up in the list of top consumers in the Energy tab. Only devices that have actual power measurement capabilities are included in that list.
  • The device will be included in the Energy tile (the prior energy section) at the top of the Devices tab.

Yes, exactly, but these values are of no use

Well, Homey somehow shows this status in the Energy title (the prior energy section). It’s a shame this can’t be used in the Energy tab. Some algorithm could calculate how long the bulb was on after 24 hours and add it to the day the calculation applies to.

Maybe you can lower your tone?

I’m not sure what exactly this means, but I’m using Google Translate. Gemini translates this fragment as “too bad” and “pity,” so please choose whichever you like.

It is a shame === shame on you === it is a disgrace

so “it is a pity” is a bit more polite.

I don’t see “a tone”…
“It’s a shame” is not related to “shame on you” in any way afaik.

I think it generally means “too bad” / “bummer” / “not what I’ve hoped for” and even “what a mess”.

Translation tools often translate to the letter, ignoring common phrases and saying.

This seem to be pretty realistic GB-NL translations:

Maybe we should ask a native speaker.

Anyway, this is more a request for a product improvement to Athom.

“It’s a shame that…” generally translates to “Het is jammer dat…” in Dutch. It’s just a way to describe the current situation. In this case it’s not directed towards a person, so not a personal ‘attack’ of any kind.

Back on topic: it would be nice indeed if Athom could align the energy information between the two Energy sections.

Just to make sure we speak the same language, one overview is power (kW) and the other is Energy (kWh).

As a native speaker, “it is a pity” is a synonym for “It is a shame”, “Shame on you” is not, neither is “it is a disgrace”

Unfortunately Homey does get this wrong, the Units in the Energy Tab are kW. The tab should be labelled Power

That’s interesting: in my case it shows kWh/Wh. For example the Top Consumers overview:

I have pointed this out to Homey support more than once over the last few years, at best I get “we don’t have a timeline for this” type response

Point taken.
