Hi Daniel,
I’m sorry I missed your email and the silence was not disinterest.
I’m a retired videotape editor and home-automation enthusiast, not a programmer. A few weeks ago I found another forum thread called LG WebOS app for Homey Pro 2023 and Max’s source code GitHub - MaxvandeLaar/homey-webos-plus: Improved LG WebOS integration for Homey · GitHub . I also looked at the python code which Home Assistant uses to connect to LG WebOS, but with no ability to do the work myself, I paid for the professional level of programming help from OpenAI Codex to make the Homey app. I used it as part of my AV Automation, but when I realised local apps are not included in the nightly Homey Cloud backup, the only solution was to get it certified by Athom.
At $200 per month, I cannot afford more than 1 month’s Codex membership, so I’ve published the source code for other developers to improve or maintain:
Your reconnect problem deserves investigation. I only have two days of upgraded Codex access left but I would like to use that time to help you. I cannot promise a fix as I only have my 2024 LG OLED65G45LW to test the app on, but if you see this post in time, give me your TV models, webOS versions, Wi-Fi/Ethernet connections, Homey model and whether polling is enabled. Logs from one failed attempt would also help.
