Seemengly our favourite Dutch company will be completely purchased by LG Electronics. [image] LG Electronics acquires Dutch home automation company Athom LG Electronics said Wednesday it has signed a deal to acquire the Netherlands-based home automation company Athom B.V. in a bid to cr…

Hold off on the panics. This could be a solid backing for the Homey Pro and so good growth potential and solid programming. Having moved from SmartThings v1, Homey Pro Advanced Flow is way easier. Sure there are examples of mergers that didn’t go as well as planned. But the mergers that went well te…

I wanted to share my perspective because I believe we all need to take a step back and assess the situation objectively; As stated in the press release, it truly is business as usual. It’s totally within the rights of a developer to remove their app from the store, but I would still kindly request anyone doing so that you at least make them open source so you don’t screw over someone from the community who just…

Perhaps I am very naive… But I had the feeling for a while that Athom was not doing very well financially. This takeover could give a significant boost to the “homey” project. There is a good chance that in a few years the product will have “LG” on it, but there is now much more money available for …
