This story begins a while back.
I had some existing devices, (Kasa, Govee, Ecobee, Eufy) working as part of my Alexa ‘smart home’, but I decided to switch to Homey Pro to take advantage of the extra functionality…
My first upgrade was to Aqara and the M3 Zigbee hub, which Alexa accepted without complaint.
Next, for security reasons, I switched from smp.stephen@gmail.com to stephenlamoureux@protonmail.com. Again, no problems from Alexa, although recreating my device file from start was a bit time consuming.
I was able to install the relevant apps on my Homey Pro, and they seem to work, but the Kasa devices have decided not to cooperate. Also, the fact that i have two different email addresses isn’t helping, so i deleted and reinstalled all of the Kasa, Eufy, and Ecobee devices in my old gmail account, and moved them to protonmail, and so far, Kasa is the only one causing grief.
So, at the moment my problem is that when i try to add a Kasa HS220 Dimmer switch, the process (on my cell phone) is as follows:
- Click on the Devices button at the bottom of the page
- Click on the + sign at the top of the page
- Click on “New Device”
- Click on “TP-Link Kasa Smart” near the bottom of the app list
- Click on the “In-wall Dimmer HS220” button
- Click on the “Connect” banner at the bottom of the page
- Box appears “You are now leaving the Homey app…”; Click on Continue
- tp-link / kasa sign in page appears (api.tplinkra…
- Enter ‘protonmail’ Email address and Password
- After a second or two, screen returns to #5: Device list
Rinse and repeat…
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don’t really mind deleting every device and starting over, ( have less than 50 total) but I need to share my pain…
I am already circling the drain, and i have had far worse things happen to me, but…
