Homey Pro and Self Hosted Homey working together

All I want to know is can the Homey Pro as a Satellite device for the self Service server?

I bought a Homey Pro a few months ago and at this point happy to reset the whole journey.

But cannot find any information about this.

No, but you can control it’s zigbee/zwave/433MHz (and on) per HomeyLink app.
As a sort of remote control.
For sensors the same, you can use the remote sensor as if it’s a local sensor.

Sorry I maybe missing something in the answer

So I have a Homey Pro and like the idea of the self hosted server so I have basically more power and storage

I also have a Homey Bridge.

Seems an oversight that the external devices cannot be connected to at least use them as satellites

The Homey Bridge you can use with Self Hosted Homey for external protocols, but Homey Pro not. As you can see there has already been discussion here.

I have a homey Pro 23, which is running out of memory; I also have a Homey Bridge. If I add a Self-Hosted Server to this setup can I then use all of the devices which are on the Homey Pro 23 by running flows on the SHS ?

No Homey Self-Hosted Server is like Homey Pro an independent Homey instance.
You can mange both from the same account but to build flows for the devices on the other Homey you need to link these two Homey’s with fe HomeyLink.

Thanks, I was hoping that there would be some kind of cluster build where all of them would be integrated in one system. I will look into HomeyLink.

The widget needs the app on the same device. It connects to the app and the dehive for realtime updates.

Only way is to use the HomeyBridge for the SHS (placed next to car). For BLE you also can add more than one Bridge. So you can cover a larger area with BLE.

Yes you can, but you have to reset all your devices and flows by hand on the SHS.

i am rebuilding my setup with shs , a bridge and a pro 2019. the pro was full, so i only keep the apps and devices i use on that pro, which is zigbee, zwave and bluetooth related.

so all flows, internet apps, utility apps are moved to shs.

then homey link, and/or mqtt, and/or webhooks to control and fetch data from shs.

actually, this way its a smart bridge and i can put some minimal flow logics on it if required

(prefiltering , auto reboot if it looses connectivity etc)

I had the same but found there was no real use for the pro anymore.. I moved everything to the SHS and sold the pro for eur 250, bought the lifetime SHS and a bridge, couple euro’s left and no issues with speed, storage or memory any more.

Very happy with it !

Thanks. I have a bridge with my Homey Pro23. Can I connect the bridge to both the Homey Pro23 and the SHS ?

No, only to one at a time. You have to reset the Bridge to connect to another Homey.

No, it only works on one… but if you have SHS running there is no real need for the pro anymore..

Thanks yes I figure that was the problem but for SHS and Pro with homeylink to be successful it would need to all it to work that way.

But I picked up a bridge too. And my solutions is now working that way

I cant believe we cant do this. All hubs in one “home” or location and then just one app / dashboard to connect them. Link them all seamlessly.
Aqara and SmartThing work this way. I have 3 Aqara hubs and 2 ST hubs

As said below though, there almost isnt any need now for the HP2023 so might as well sell it
:frowning:
I hope that Homey look to sort it someway

What would you do with the cluster though ? Homey pro or Homey SHS are powerfull enough to do their job on their own.

Homey bridge is needed if you need other protocols then WiFi and is a lot cheaper then homey pro.

So the only usecase would be “is it possible to manage the homey pro as if it were a homey bridge.

And that usecase would only be valid for those people who already have a homey pro and move to homey SHS. That is a small group that will not grow.

So I would like to have seen it also but realistically:

I now sold my homey pro for eur 250 and bought a homey bridge for 58,80 (amazon return deal).

If I would have kept my homey pro and used that instead of purchasing the bridge I would have lost money…: 191 euro. I took 150 euro out of that profit and purchased the lifetime license. I also terminated the backup (not available for SHS), saving me eur 10 yearly also.

So I think Athom has got our back here
