Just received an email announcing this new version,
Will there be a discount and/or trade in for us ‘early adopters’ and loyal customers to upgrade to it?

Maybe a possibility to upgrade existing Homey Pro units?
If the main improvement is increased RAM, it feels wasteful to replace a perfectly functioning device just for that. More RAM is definitely welcome, but throwing away old hardware isn’t very sustainable. An official upgrade or trade-in option would be great to see ![]()
Received the same mail, well allmost… mine had the Homey Pro 2026.
But I rather want the option to use the previous Homey Pro 2023 as a redundant option or as a satalite option like the Homey Bridge.
That would be a great option.
I guess they are just upgrading the Raspberry Pi inside. Since the webpage only specifies that the RAM is upgraded, I belive that you are still using the CM4. You can upgrade the CM4 in the 2023 on your own risk.
Is the problematicThread/Zigbee radio chip still the same?
Is the problematic power supply still the same?
Is more RAM the only change that we know of @Doekse ?
In that case -for me- an upgrade seems not relevant…
Can the name of the topic be changed from …2006 to 2026?
Have you looked at HomeyLink | Homey
What about those who purchased Homey less than 2 months ago? There’s got to be a discounted upgrade option, right?
And those who bought 15 days ago for black friday without knowing that two weeks later a new version was coming? ![]()
I just bought my Homey Pro about 2 months ago. If i had known a new one was coming, I would have waited. Maybe offer a discounted upgrade path?
Similar, had it one month and 10 days, just too late for the Coolblue 30 day return period (and no discounts, so I paid the full 399 Euro).
You could technically have known 4 months ago
In this commit from August 26 the new Homey model is added to the repo.
Maybe you can sell the old one online? In the Netherlands we have Markplaats.nl, don’t know if there are similar websites in other countries.
I think the loss will be less by upgrading the 2023 with a better CM4.
Instead of buying a Compute Module, you can also wait for the Homey Self Hosted Server release, where you can use your own hardware to run Homey OS on. Then you can likely use HomeyLink to get the Zigbee/ZWave/Matter devices from your HP23 in there, and your Cloud and LAN-connected devices and Tools apps on the SHS.
My guess that’s not available next week? Or do you you think it’s getting released soon ehhh soon™ ?
The domains are registered (homeyshs.net and homeyshs.dev), the references are in the GitHub repo, the code is there in the web app… so I think it’s coming soon. However, if we look at when the homey7q (Homey Pro 2026) model got committed to the GitHub repo, it was 4 months before the actual release. So we don’t know yet, maybe it takes longer or maybe it doesn’t
Not quickly after introducing the 2026 I presume. But who knows, it’s a bit coffee fat viewing[1] all in all.
Could it be a result from the (for the biggest part) takeover by LG?
They were particularly interested in Homey OS if I was informed correctly.
This SHS seems to be the first result in that direction.
Maybe the underlying idea is to make it sort of a live field test, before they add it also to certain LG devices one day.
I’m sure there’s still enough interest in a ready-to-go all-in-one box, not everyone is into Rpi’s and such.

But it’s clearly meant for hosting it yourself, not for some kind of internal test or internal use for LG. Even the subdomain “raspberrypi.homeyshs.net“ domain is registered, but now it’s just a GitHub repo with a file that redirects to homey.app
The current CDN server that I know of “shs.homeycdn.net“, returns 404. I would need the exact filename to download the actual software, but for now that’s impossible to find. I guess I need to make some scripts to check the DNS records of the domains and maybe check when the Web App gets updated
