Homey Energy | Megathread

Homey report wrong consumption for this light connect with Shelly integration. Any idea to resolve it?

Fix the measurement of the device,
delete Data from Homey Energy for that device for the dates it was reporting wrong data.

Fix the measurement of the device, what is the correct procedure to do that?

Depending on the device brand and type and the Homey App you use (or not). I think for Shelly this ([APP] Shelly - Smart solutions for every home and office) is the starting point to first get the device correct.

After that you have to remove the incorrect historucal data in Energy.

Same here! I am in an electric-import-only appartment, i want to get rid of the house picture/animation as it does not make any sense and only consumes valuable screen space. Also let me disable the ‘Power Ups’ section that wants me to add solar panels that will never arrive…

When going to the Energy Dongle device page, the first thing you see is a screen filling image of the dongle - why not show useful info on the opening page/tab of the dongle, eg key figures from the dashboard tab.

PS: using Homey App on iPhone 17

For some reason my Energy fetches the wrong spotprice. I’m in SE3 and whenever I check my price towards nordpool it differs.

It’s not a constans sum that differs, neither seems to be a reoccuring factor. I have a really hard time understanding what causing the issue. Does anyone have a suggestion? I’ve tested this over a few different firmwares but Homey still always show a tiny bit higher price than nordpool.

I don’t have any other costs added in energy on top of the spotprice. Therefore the price should always correspond with nordpool, but unfortunately it never does.

I’m in the Netherlands and experiencing the same thing. About 2 cents difference. Check it multiple times until a month or two back (Than it was about the same).

One thing that I think can be the cause: since a while 15min. Day a head prices are in affect for the energy markets. I know Zonneplan (my energy supplier) uses the 15min. prices to create an average for the 60min. window, as they still rate per hour.

I don’t think it has something to do with the 15min prices. At least not for me.

I had the problem back when it was hourly prices aswell.

The only guess I’ve had so far is that Homey pulls the price from nordpool in one currency and then converts it into the currency for the region your Homey is set to.

Two things that speak against that guess. First I feel like the error should then be more of an constant factor. Which it isn’t (it’s quite similiar within a day, but does change a bit more from day to day). And secondly a lot more people should have the same problem!

I was wondering if there are any plans to also include other energy consumption measured in KW/K Wh than electricity to the energy tab?

The background is that my main sorce of heating is from district heating (Swedish: fjärrvärme) and until recently I had no way to included that in Homey. I have had Ngenic tune for quite some time and then recently added Ngenic track so now I can see the consumption in real time. It does get included in the energy tab by default but as electricity with the electric tariff as well.

I had to explicitly exclude the heating from the energy tab as the electricity measurements and calculations get totally corrupted otherwise.
I think it would be a good addition to the energy tab to also have another section for non electricity/gas/water. In my case this is the main energy consumer of my house that gets omitted.

So in short any plans to include other energy sources?

If not I think it would be a good addition to have the complete picture of the energy consumption included. I think adding a fourth user configurable energy source would do the trick.

Hi

I bought a energy dongle today and connected it to our meter AM550, which is noticed as compatible. I connected to the cloud-version of Homey and upgreaded to a premium version to be able to follow the flow of current as we load our cars in the house and want to see if we are close to maximum. We also have solar panels on the roof. Now to the problem, when I look att the data, the power, the voltage on all three phases looks ok but the current data shows zero. I have rezetted the dongle but it didn’t help. The P1 port must be open as I can read some data. Anyone have a suggestion for me to try?

Experiencing the same. Yesterday’s prices were shown, but yesterday the prices for today didn’t came true. And this morning: not available for today.

dito

I have that same problem. See no price information anymore. Whats is going on? But I see also price information in my HomeWizard app.

This is what I see:

Same here. My car didn’t charge 2 nights in a row, I couldn’t figure out why. Now it makes sense..

Issue should be resolved as per notification I got form Homey via there status page.

Shouldn’t I be able to use this card even passed midnight?

I want to find the six hours of cheapest hours during the night. This can be anything from 18:00 to next morning 06:30.

Ha that’s funny. Having the same challenge for charging my car. Although I still want to notify Athom for this feature (sadly via support you are routed to this forum instead of putting in a feature request)..

For now i dit it this way:

It’s nog perfect but does the trick for now, and cheapest hours are mostly from 23 - 6.

Yes, thought of that too, however then those are handled independently from each other and not as a whole.

That is true. But in my case i can live with this, because I know that my car fully charges in max (shorter if more battery is left, but I can not read mij SoC via Homey at the moment) 6 hours. And I ‘ve experienced that cheapest hours are roughly 22.00-6.00. Although i don’t give much room to play with.
