Homey Energy | Megathread

I have the same issue, but for me it’s the kWh-meter that’s being used (and labeled) as the EV charger. It monitors correctly; it shows the correct values as a device. But in “Top consumers” it always stays as “-- kWh” and “€ --”.
A different energysocket i recently connected immediately worked as expected here.

the Energie Tab is only avaiable in the mobile app , not in the Web App , correct ?

:white_check_mark: yup

Have a minor issue as you can see i got a litle of everything on my energi page. However i have a problem for some reason the batteri counter for the day do not show anything at all how much it have charged or discharged. Animation and the homebatteri device shows everything correct when it charge and discharge. But stil the charge and discharge value do not turn upp. Remains - on it. Anyone got a idea what might cause this?

The app hast to provide energy settings for charged/discharged meter capability. So you can only ask the app developer.

Ok so it need meterPowerImportedCapability and meterPowerExportedCapability with the specific values to calc that part.

Correct, the device energy object has to be updated from the app.
And a JSON correction is not enough, you have to read/change/set the energy object including the capabilities:

Ok. The rest i got. I have them configured just not feeding values to them. Back to the drawingboard as they say :wink: Thx

Are there any plans to extend the energy-related device capabilities for metering district heating and cooling in gigajoule (GJ)? I already have hardware and software in place to read the energy meter, but no good way to get this data into Homey because currently there is only a gas metering (gas_meter) capability.

I agree, missing this

For my home battery system (Zendure 2400AC) is no Homey integration (not yet) available.
I made a virtual device as class battery and added the capabilities: measure_power, measure_battery and measure_temperature. Added the data from a script and put in variable to be bind in the device.

This is working great, but I want to show this information on de Energy tab in Homey.
Can someone assist me to get this working?

Already searched this forum but no similar situation found, onle with HA integrations.

It needs this to be set:

"class": "battery",
  "energy": {
    "homeBattery": true,
    "meterPowerImportedCapability": "meter_power.import",
    "meterPowerExportedCapability": "meter_power.export"
  },

How can I do that with a devices created from the Virtual Devices app?
Class battery is already set.

Doubt if that is even possible or the virtual device app has the sub settings. Did you check Device capabilities app??

Yes, even Device Capabilities app isn’t working with this specific homeBattery option.

Then sadly no. I have this set for Homewizard Plugin Battery but that is due to building the driver and device code.

Okay pity.

Thanks for the assistance.

No problem, hope someone picks up Zendure app to support it. Don’t have it so hard to start one.

Home Team, Love the app but currently have 3 issues:

  1. Every day at 20:00, the system incorrectly assumes it’s the next day and switches to a view with no readings. Consequently, I have to manually override the system and set the view back to the previous day

  2. The app’s currency input field defaults to four decimal places, but the Chilean currency does not use decimals. This causes the total spending to be displayed incorrectly in scientific notation. I have already reported this issue via TestFlight.

  3. I’m wondering if it’s possible to configure ‘parent’ or ‘reporting’ devices. I have an issue where my smart plugs are connected to a metered breaker box, which results in duplicating the total kilowatt-hours (kWh) consumed in the report. This feature is implemented in Home Assistant.

Attached pics for issues 1 and 2 : Have to change from Sunday to Monday; 1.68e+3

I got a weird issue. Total solar generated is not correct. Ik have:

  • Energy Dongle on P1 port
  • Homewizard kWh meter for home roof solar panels
  • SMA app for Sunny Boy 1.5 for carport roof panels

Everything is working, measurements are correct but on the generated solar output I got about twice the amount of the generated power

In the homewizard app everything look fine

But in the Energy tab the total is incorrect

What could I be doing wrong?
