Homey Energy | Megathread

Hi, I can confirm this has worked. Thanks.

That is definitely not intended! Will see if I can reproduce and fix.

I think this should be fixed in one of the latest mobile app updates. There was an issue with determining the total home usage which caused it to fallback to the sum of the top consumers. If you have a smart meter installed it should actually determine the total home usage based on that.

It happens when a device with a meter value is ass the first time.

Are you using the kWh meter to measure the consumption/return of a home battery? In that case it is best to exclude the device from Energy for now. Homey can’t know that this device represents a home battery. The Homewizard app could be updated to add this functionality.

" I have it set on “Solar Panel” with “Tracks total home energy consumption”"

Solar panels should not be set to “Tracks total home energy consumption”.

The reason for this is that you don’t have solar panels installed in Homey. Homey sees you are exporting energy but doesn’t know how much solar you have generated, therefore it can’t determine the amount of energy Home has used and fallsback to the sum of the top consumers.

@Robin Thanks! That removed the double Solar entry underneath the house, see my post with images somewhere above. But still no correct energy data above the house (both are Grid minus Solar) and no Solar total which remains on 0 Wh although the chart populates correctly.

Hi,

Seems these two numbers are not from the same source…

Also, these numbers (and Solar Panels) never change when the app is open, I have to (force)close the app and open it again to get a new reading.
(Notice this on iPhone and iPad)

What app/driver are you using for the solar panels? It looks like it doesn’t have the meter_power capability (you could check this at Homey Developer Tools).

Is this still an issue with the latest update available in TestFlight; build 1641?

@Robin Yes it does. As stated above, it is a Shelly EM.

For me this has been resolved :+1:

I am using a Frient Energy Meter LED, it works like the Tibber Pulse, but Homey does not take this Meter as a grid meter. Is this a thing Frient needs to address or homey?

It has the meter_power capability

still shows a " - " for grid Power

I’ve sent you a PM.

@JayR
Do you have “Tracks total home energy consumption" set to “Yes” in your device settings?

Yes, it is.

Probably this is not yet fully supported although I see this in the supported meters: * frient Electricity Meter Interface 2 — P1, HAN and Optical (Official App), I moved from SmartGateways to HomeWizard at launch for that reason because I was very impatient to get it to work

Cloud be the case, but that’s a bummer, why is it listed at the supported devices

I would like to set the grid metering device in the energy tab by myself.

This problem should besolved when u install the new version of the app (1.7.9)
