Homey Energy | Megathread

I looked through the thread and used the search function, but didn’t find anything related to my question.

@Doekse, what’s about fixed monthly costs?
I don’t know what the electricity price is calculated in the Netherlands, but in Germany we have to pay monthly fixed costs. So it would be necessary to include these fixed costs somewhere.
Something similar applies to solar energy. If you export your solar energy to the public grid, you get money for every kilowatt hour, if registered.

Are there plans to integrate this?

Scroll all the way down and click customize, you’ll find tariffs there.

Same applies in The Netherlands.
I can imagine that Homey Energy is all about usage and less about the total cost of energy.

Danee, do you mean this?

These are only the pure electricity costs per kWh without fixed costs.
But I would also like to be able to take the monthly fixed costs into account.

@Henk_Renting, that could be. But at the end it’s all about money, and that’s why I think it makes sense.
Btw, in the PbtH App from @Gruijter it’s also possible to take the monthly fixed costs into account.

Soon, not yet (said in the podcast), but there is a part about this in the docs:

Hi,

For the HomeWizard kWh meter you are not considering the energy returned, so it is reporting usage only:

And from the HomeWizard app:

So, you are not calculating the 10.0 kWh that has been returned, the actual usage should have been 1.4kWh.

The product:

The App in Homey:

Ah, ok, I misunderstood your question, my contract has no fixed monthly fee, just usage.

No. This is the homey app

Hi @Doekse / @Harwin

Why does the animation showing me I’m collecting solar power… at 21:20? It’s pitch dark outside.

Rogier

It is still generating 260 Wh from what it looks like

Are you using the meter to monitor the power usage of your entire house or just a single device?

@Doekse

Solar stopped around 15:30. I’m also living in the Netherlands. Again it is 21:30 right now.

Rogier

There is a group of devices behind it, also a battery that is returning energy, so it can return energy.
It has separate counters for that:

I think the app needs to be updated to define which power measurement is in/out.

Inform the app developer and give hime some time… and perhaps a mulled wine via Paypal

Thank you for the tips. I will not buy innr any more and if they break I will go over to one of your suggestions

Hi @Doekse

260 Wh is Watt hour. Which means the total it generates this day. It is not what it is generating at this moment. Watts.

In the animation it shows a yellow line from the solar panels to the house. While it is pitch dark outside. This is technically not possible.

Unless you are telling me it is the moon that is generating solar energy.

Rogier.

If the inverter is running (and battery not empty these days), it is showing sometimes <1W. So yes, there can be a minimal measurement that’s hidden in the chart (rounded).

Hi @RonnyW ( @Doekse ).

IMO this ‘rounded’ value should be taken in account. It does not make sense that the solar power line is showing a yellow animation in the middle of the night.

Edit: I don’t have batteries

Rogier

@Doekse hey, I am the maintainer of the solaredge etc modbus app and got a question how I can show the batteries on the energy tab, got 2 and I see the 2 inverters but not my batteries.

my devices classes equals to solarpanel and can also have batteries on it because that is how it works. battery alone cannot work and its need it hybrid inverter and is on 1 modbus connection. so cannot do battery as device class.

another questions how can I connect or see existing devices on the energy tab. got my airco and charger etc as heavy consumers

thanks Edwin

@Rogier_Verheugen and @Doekse i have the same with Enphase solar panels in the IOS App. Not on Android :man_shrugging:t3:
