Homey Dashboards — Public Beta Megathread

Thanks for your response. That is indeed an option, but not really ideal. I use my iPhone most of the time and I check it before I get on my bike in the morning. Then I also want to turn certain lights in the house on and off and that would be nice if that dashboard was available.
Of course I can switch Dashboards quite quickly, but automatically would be very nice.

The idea is, you can make a flow, the time is 09:00 select dashboard ‘morning’ to achieve your goal. Someone else can make a flow, the outside temperature drops below 0 C degrees, select dashboard ‘freezing’ and another user can make a flow Last person left the house, select dashboard ‘empty house’.

The possibilities are endless when making the selection controllable by flow.

Oh, it is possible with a flow. I couldn’t find that easily.
I’ll investigate, thanks

I don’t see an option anywhere to start a dashboard? Or am I overlooking it.

There isn’t yet, it is @DaneedeKruyff suggestions to Athom for a way to switching dashboards or dashboard content.

We have to wait till Athom implements something

Ah yes, that would be great, hopefully @Emile will read along.

Cool idea! +1

I can already imagine a lot of use cases for this. Could be as easy as having a “favorite” dashboard that’s loaded by default when opening dashboards and having flows set this favorite!

Definitely something I need as well.

Also, I would really love it if we could get the option to start an app (on our phones) somehow via the dashboard, perhaps through a widget.

Just install Join app I’d like to suggest. It’s cloud based though…

By using (advanced) virtual devices, or just by starting flows, you can interact with your phone
(not all may be available on some phone models):

Happy to find the Dashboard Beta released. Played around with it and read through this Dashboard topic and would like to suggest a new feature which I couldn’t find as being asked yet (or maybe I misunderstood having limuted IT jargon knowledge). Would be great to be able to use a Dashboard as widget in Android so it can be accessed on your phone/tablet without opening Homey first.

There is a request and explanation on how to do this here :slightly_smiling_face::point_down:

Same here. Did you find any solution?

Thank you!! Hopefully we can get it implemented, I will go to the thread and show my support as well, the more the better our chances are.

And I’ve used Kiosk Browser as well, I’m just not so fond of those browser. I mean, its fine with an old tablet but I’m using a big 15" new tablet and I feel as if the rest of the tablet is being locked out that way, which is a real shame. I’d rather have something implemented, though it’s a great alternative.

When I go into dashboards, the dashboards I created are shown there as a tile, but the Home screen isn’t (which in fact is also a dashboard now)

I’d like to see Home also there.

Also, a copy function (and obviously delete too) would also be usefull there!

If you’re on a Android dashboard device
You could consider installing Fully Kiosk on both Homey and your dashboard device.
Has a lot of cool features, besides being able to open an app from remote. If you just install it on both, it’ll become clear onze you check it out.

I made a flow and published it on the dashboard that starts an app from Fully on the same (dashboard) device.

Let me give some advice… imho

Look at the implementation of SharpTools for Homey. I really feel that Athom can learn from that in regards to tiles and columns.

I do really like kiosk browser and will check it out but wont it kind of lock me out of the rest of the tablet? That’s how I felt with my older tablets when using kiosk because its a home launcher of sorts which starts up automatically. Since my tablet is new (Samsung galaxy tab s8 ultra) it has a lot of other cool features I want to be able to use, I prefer something I can drop in and out from quickly without closing it completely or automatically returning to it.

See this is exactly what I was thinking as well, I’ve tried Sharptools and while it’s not perfect it has a lot of really nice features which I hope that homey will implement as well, a lot of them are so nice, the app opening, the tile resizing, the fact that you can go to any dashboard you wish with the click of a “button” and much much more.
