AFAIK no apps are needed for Matter devices.

Yes, not for Matter devices but I highly recommend not to use it because of countless stability issues (at least in my experience) so a cloud/actual Homey app would be better. AFAIK Homey also uses an older Matter version which doesn’t support robot vacuums, but I might be wrong there

Based on this site , robot vacuums are part of Matter since version 1.2. The Homey OS version released yesterday (v13.3.0) updates its Matter support to version 1.5, according to the change log .
