Fibaro Walli Rolling Shutter help

Hey all,

I know there is a lotalready on this forum about Fibaro, i have a problem and i just do not understand.
I have bought my first Z-wave device, a Fibaro Walli Rolling Shutter because i like hybrid stuff, just for other family members to have a working button and also it is great when a network is down that you can still operate the shutters. I use it for shutters outside the bedrooms to keep the warmt of the sun out.

The problem is my house (from 2001) has mostly dry walls so not that thick my Homey is in the livingroom for an old RTS stuff.
Since it would be like one floor only so 3 meters at most i thought it would work, but when i am trying to add the Walli Rolling Shutter to Homey, it stops everytime with an time out error after step 2. So the first step is working (first 3 presses and i get the first checkmark on the homey app) it sees the Walli but then i get the timeout error and the message i have to move closer to the Homey, this is difficult.
Is this indeed a range problem? Also have a lot of Zigbee devices and no problem with those… and i though zigbee has a much smaller range and the closest zigbee device is not that much closer to the homey. Do i need an extender or did i miss something or did something wrong?
If i need an extender which one do you recommend?

thanks in advance

(the manual function is working just fine)

Except for when the z-wave network is down :winking_face_with_tongue::wink:

Pairing z-wave devices should be done within a few cm’s of Homey (or bring Homey to the wall switch)

All Z-wave Kowledge base articles here

Homey’s z-wave range is not great;
In case there’s still range issues / unresponsiveness:
I’d add an z-wave plug in between, which acts as router/hop.

The distance between Homey and your device needs only to be close during the pairing, take f.i. an extention-cord for your Homey an keep them close together while including. After including, the distance can be greater. This is different from Zigbee, where you can include via Mesh-network, for Z-Wave this can not be done for all devices.(as Peter is mentioning above :grinning_face:)

Thank you, i removed it from the wall and got it connected, only when i placed it back have the same issue it is not reacting, it does not give me the :red_triangle_pointed_up: that it has lost connection but i can not control it, however with a lot of delay it gives me the energy used for the motor :wink:
However i will get an extender maybe i will get the Homey Bridge, because it is as expensive as a wall plug and i have extension for all my stuff even could add my old tv upstairs :wink:
